Hello Friends,

What an overwhelming response we got from you all ! 👏We received not only a great number of entries but very creative ones as well I must say. 👏

And now….Guess what !!! The wait is over.😛 We have the results with us which we will announce now !

But before we do so, we would like to introduce the 3 fabulous Judges who judged this contest entries.👏 They are

Winning Short Story Writing Contest Entries.

Contest Requirement :

Participants had to continue the story outline given below and write a short story in about 250 words.

Story Outline :

Imagine''😍"You are home alone. It's raining cats and dogs outside and you are feeling rather restless. Between the flashes of lightning and roars of the thunder, the rhythmic 'plit plat, plit plat' sound of the falling raindrops entices you to the window. You aimlessly gaze out at the dull gray rain soaked view in front of you and your mind wanders away to another time, another place, another rainy day..."

Runner Up's Entry

16^th April, 2008. It had rained after so long, but something told me it was already too late.

I looked at Prince, my German Shepherd, panting hard. The extreme heat had taken its toll on him. As I went near him, he looked up with an expression that I always thought of as a foolish grin.

'Let's play...I'll hide and you search', I told him.

I hid in the drawing room behind a chair...but for the first time, he didn't come.

As I waited in the dark room, I remembered how he used to enjoy this weather in our old room....barking as the thunder sounded, playing in the rain...

Then I remembered how he ran after my mom in the rain once as she left for the library in the car...he ran 1 km and ran as fast as the car.

Suddenly he came, grinning as widely as ever...proudly wagging his tail and telling me that he had found me at last.

The next morning he died.

As I look out of the window now, I can feel a certain wet thing rubbing itself against my legs and purring loudly like a cat....my Labrador pup...Caesar.

I pick him up and hug him....finally understanding the most important lesson Prince taught me...live for now, and be happy, so that your future is free of regrets...
