Me too.

But I keep procrastinating for one reason or another. I haven't read LOTR because I want to read the Hobbit first and never get beyond the first few chapters. I started reading GoT but the length just scares me off. Or I start feeling that I can finish a few more shorter books before starting with this one.

Oh yes, I loved those long discussions. Really miss them sometimes.

Yeah Diya, we met here like long-lost buddies. The CC got locked due to our long inactivity, but I can unlock it anytime by asking mods. If someday, if you wish to rejoin there, let me know. Have a good time 🤗

Yeah though its being told in third person, still its being narrated from Harry's pov mostly...That sort of writings I mostly prefer....

The characterization and narrative was very interesting! The way relationships have been developed are heartwarming. 😳

Maine toh padha hi nahi hain yeh series. Although I have heard a lot of praises for Raavan's book.

I agree, there certainly are loopholes. I mean you take on quantum realm, you're bound to mess something up. And she did it without putting much thought into it. I only come across one of her twitter comments once in a while (I think I have only read one or two). That's not going to diminish my love for the characters and their dynamics that I've adored for so long.

But I only consider the original seven books as the HP series. Not the Fantastic Beast series and definitely not that absolute TRASH called the Cursed Child.

I think Rowling became problematic for me after her constant retconing of the series. Dumbledore's sexuality, Hermione becoming black, her making up Jew characters who weren't in the books when she was called out for not having one. Then Cho Chang wala controversy. I hate this insincere sort of inclusivity that she shows. And her stand on trans people is just appalling.

I have always struggled with the concept of separating the art and the artist. And if the art in question is a book, then it's very difficult for me to view it separate from the artist.

I didn't hate any of his books, but I am really put off when he starts on one of his ramblings. I can't stand too much philosophy. That's what made the third book in the Shiva Trilogy so long and dragged out. It could easily have been 150 pages shorter. It would've made the book much more interesting to read.

I only know the little we hear al the tine about the Minotaur lore. That's why this book interested me. I was hoping it was something like Circe where a we get a closer look at a less explored character.

I had never heard of Daughters of Sparta. Will see if it looks interesting.

@bold: 🤣

I think the fanfic authors have really done a fabulous job in developing the world Rowling created.

Yes omg.. That book was a drag. I think 10% into the book, I just wanted to read the last five chapters and be done with it.

I think GOT is very character focused so it can be a difficult read. The plot is slow moving and because of the constant POV jumps, it is difficult to keep a track of things. That said, I felt the first book was quite good and the twists were really well done. You could give it another try maybe. The supernatural stuff is very less compared to other fantasy books. Have you watched the series though?

Also, idk if we have interacted before. I'm Aparna.

I have read the children's versions of various Puranas and other mythological stories.

The Great Indian Novel by Shashi Tharoor is a bulky but very interesting read!

The Palace of Illusions is good.

I loved Dinkar's poem/book Rashmirathi (based on Karna)

A friend of mine has published his book based on mytho-historical fiction "Tarikshir:The Awakening" second part will be out next year mostly. Author is Khayaal Patel. The book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and potpourri of genres but beautiful characters and storyline.

That's all for now. Aur yaad ayega to batati hu😳

Omg I absolutely, absolutely love The Great Indian Novel. It is one of the funniest, well written book I've read.
