Guys! I am back with chapter 2, please do read and review! 😊
Chapter 2
Archana sat in the room, a frown on her face. She hated what was going on, and she knew Vishal did too. Oh, Lord, she thought, a lone tear dripping down her face. Why this, why so soon?
She didn't hear Vishal coming in, until he spoke. "Archu?"
She looked up at him, helpless. In the five months between their engagement and marriage she had come to trust him tremendously, and she knew he understood her.
"I don't like this, Vishu," she whispered, another tear dripping down. He was kneeling before her in seconds.
"Hey," he said, wiping the tear away. "I know, and I don't either. We're together in this, even if no one else is. I promise."
"Not alone," said a voice. It was Vishal's brother Karthik. "I am too. I am against what is happening, and if it comes down to the actual threat, I and Sanjana are in it too. And, Archana, so are your friends."
"I know, Anna," she said. "But how could they? My own parents? That's so hypocritical of them!"
"I know, Archana, but that is the harsh reality."
"Anna, why are they so against my brother marrying a girl of his choice? And, that too, not any girl, it's your sister!"
"I know, Archu," interrupted Vishal. "I don't disapprove, I am all for Ranju and Shwetha marrying. But I think they think it's incestuous? I don't know."
"That's nonsense! Manni and Anna also married of their own choice, Vishu, Amma andAppa did!"
"I know love, I know," he said, hugging her, not caring that his brother was still in the room. He had grown to love her so much. And to think, eight months ago, he didn't want to see her?
Vishal stepped out of the car, the valet closing the door behind him, his laptop bag in hand. His important meeting had been interrupted because his client had to go early.
He walked into the house and threw his laptop bag in the chair, and called for his sister-in-law.
"Manni!"
"Coming Vish!" She almost ran out of the kitchen, coffee cup in hand. She knew he was in one of his moods because otherwise, he would come stealthily into the kitchen and sit on the kitchen counter. And scare her.
"Thanks," he muttered, taking the cup and sinking into the sofa.
"Bad day?"
"Four huge files to sign and a meeting abandoned."
"Ouch. Karthik has been in Appa's bad books. His clients didn't like the presentation."
Vishal frowned. Though Karthik was the elder, he was fiercely protective of him.
"Appa should not be talking, the company was in ruins when I inherited it. Luckily Anna and I have business acumen and we took care of one line each."
"Calm down, Vish. Appa means well."
"I know, I just had a bad day."
"You're going to have worse."
"How, precisely?" He quirked an eyebrow at her.
"Amma and Appa want you to see a girl."
"What do you mean, see a gi- Hang on."
"For marriage, yes."
Vishal was interrupted by Archana's hand on his shoulder.
"You okay?"
"I am, love, I am."
"Vish, don't worry, we are here with you and Archana. No tension."
"I won't, Anna. I know."
