MEMORIES & LOSS

A child morphs into an adult;

Innocence lost.

A love that burned bright,

Dimmed by separation.

There's only memory and loss

Dreams that inspired,

Tamed by daily routines.

One's loving parents

Reduced to faded pictures.

There's only memory and loss

There's only memory and loss,

Till memory itself is stolen.

Then there can be no measure even,

Of all that was lost.
