I just decided to start watching woh rehne wali melon ki!! Could someone please give me a quick update like I know that pari got married to someone n then he died n she liked saumya. But dont know whats the deal witht he kids shuham n shivum r they twins? n why badi doesnt let pari take her kid with her? n why doesnt alisha (i think tats her name) like shubham n shivum being together etc etc.. thanks..😊

here's the jist of it.
Pari was married to Saumya (They both loved each other alot, but Saumya dies trying to save his cousin Sameer)

Pari becomes a widow and gives birth to a baby boy, but the baby dies in the hospital. The Doctor that delivars the baby (DR Manav) gives his own baby to Pari. Dr.Manav's wife died during childbirth. Know one knows that Shubham is really Dr.Manav's son other then the doctor himself.

Pari's mother in law is a bit unstable and she thinks that Pari is the cause of her sons death so she keeps Shubham away from Pari. she starts to see Saumya in shubham.

Alisha is Sameers wife (Saumya's cousin who's only goal in life is to keep Pari and his family happy because it was his fault Saumya died) Shivam is alisha and sammer's son. Sameer wants him to grow up and idolize shubham and be like pari so he keeps sending shubham to pari. Alisha doesn't like this she only wants to live a life of luxury.

ohhh boy there are many twists are turns and its hard to get you caught with everything now BUT in that case what happens is that Saumya didnt marry Pari cuz he loved her..he did to use for something (more complicated story)..she has an accident and looses her memory..and that point Saumya loves her as well and wants her back..and wants her to accept him..thats probably the promo you saw. :) you can go back and read up on the show...there are written summaries that go way back on the forum.

Were the promos recent???

who knows!! maybe Saumya's ghost comes to Pari and tells her to marry Dr.Manav or maybe you saw an old promo!!

I am trying a synopsis from the beginning.Let me know if it is confusing.
Hi,

I will try and give you the gist.
The story was initially about Rani(played by Reena Kapoor).She is a girl from a rich family,but marries Raj,a middle class person.There she learns all the middle class lifecycle.Her mom in law Surekha,her dad in law everyone is wicked and cruel and Rani wins everyone's heart and becomes a beti from bahu.Meanwhile Raj meets with an accident.The person who caused the accident is Prince,a look alike of Raj(both the characters played by Arjun Punj).Raj eventually dies and Rani has no courage to break this truth to her in laws who are Raj's parents.So she makes Prince come to her house and act as Raj.Prince agrees to this as her is guilty of Raj's death.Soon truth comes out and everyone from Raj's family start hating Prince.Prince proves that he is good hearted by donating his Kidney to Raj's brother.Now everyone in Raj's family accepted him as their son but Rani still cannot apologize him.Meanwhile Prince is the son of the Rich JD Thappar who has a cruel second wife Sheena,who hates Prince as he is not her son.Kamya,a rich girl is Prince's girlfriend.She doesn't like Prince helping Raj's family.Somehow Raj's parents make Rani forgive prince and make her marry Prince again.This enrages Kamya and she vows to revenge Rani and Prince.She in turn gets married to Abhay,a wealthy businessman.Sheena tries to kill Prince but he is saved.Kamya too troubles Prince and Rani by filing a Rape case against Prince.Somehow Prince manages to come out.Prince brings Raj's parents to his own house.Rani get pregnant and delivers a boy.But Kamya who still wants Revenge,steals the new born child from the hospital using a nurse and asks her to kill the baby.But the nurse,who doesn't have children,starts growing up the child(Rani Prince's eldest son) by naming him as Aditya.Years after searching for their lost child,Rani gets pregnant again.But this time the doctors advise her to abort the child as she has a tumor in her uterus.But Rani prefers to deliver the child despite the fact that her life is in danger coz of the child.Sheena comes to know of this and hires Neha to attract Rani's mind.Neha attracts Rani's mind as a good girl.So Rani takes a promise from Prince to marry Neha after her death.She delivers a girl this time and dies.The girl is named as Pari.Neha was actually acting as a good girl and her true color comes out after her marriage to Prince.Knowing this,Surekha(Raj's mother) stays in Prince's house to take care of Pari as requested by JD thapper(Prince's father).Neha and Prince have a girl and she is named Khushi.One day Prince sees his son Aditya begging in a traffic signal.Gets confused and meets with an accident and dies.So Pari is an Orphan now but Surekha vows to bring her up as a mother.Pari during her childhood,saves Khushi's life from an accident.This results Pari in becoming a limp forever.Pari grows up as Rani(Reena Kapoor).She is similar to her mother Rani in everything.She is inspired by Ramayan just like her mother.Khushi is grown up as a spoilt child by her mother Neha and she hates Pari.They go to same college and Pari meets Rohit,who becomes her best friend.Pari is a poetess who writes under the name of Muskan not to reveal her identity.She corrects Khushi often only to earn her hatred.Rohit loves Muskan and Pari loves Rohit.Khushi too starts loving Rohit slowly.Knowing this PAri steps back and gets Khushi and Rohit married.Rohit comes to know that Muskan is Pari on the day before his wedding with Khushi but Pari conviences him to marry Khushi.Pari's marriage gets postponed coz of her limp.Kamya ebters the scene again.This time she is shown as a good woman.She comes with her husband Abhay and pleads the hand of Pari for her son Saumya.Surekha(called as Danima by Pari Dadi+Nani+Ma) and JD don't agree to this but Kamya and her husband Abhay convience Surekha and co that they are changed and they want to do prayachit for whatever they did to Rani and Prince.So Pari gets married to Saumya.Pari gets the shock of her life when she enters Saumya's house as a bride.Everyone from her husband Saumya to the servant Chameli avoid her.Ishana,Saumya's sister is the only person who supports her in the family.But Ishana doesn't know that her parents and brother are ill treating her Babhi Pari.Meanwhile Aditya(Pari's elder brother and Rani Prince's son) is given back to JD's family by the nurse who gre him up.He was a theif initially but Pari corrects him and he joins the family and starts learning business along with his Dadu.Ishana loves Aditya and somehow conviences her parents to get her married to him.The day of their marriage,the truth that Kamya and Abhay separated Aditya from his parents comes out and Ishana gets very angry that she doesn't allow them to do Kanyadan.She makes her brother Saumya with Pari to do it.She leaves her parents with lot of anger.Meanwhile Pari comes to know that Saumya is in love with a girl Sanjana.Also,their family guruji has predicted that Saumya's first wife will die on the 40th day of their marriage because of wind.She also has danger on the 20th day by water and 30th day by fire.Saumya,Kamya and Abhay want to save Sanjana's life and so decided to get Saumya married to another girl.She will die in 40 days and they can have Saumya and Sanjana married.Kamya chose Pari because she wanted to take more revenge on Rani and hence her daughter was selected.Pari comes to know if this only after 10 days of her marriage.Ishana doesn't know this.Pari takes inspiration from Ramayan and starts showering affection and true love on Saumya.Sanjana comes to live in their house to separate Pari and Saumya.Saumya's Dadaji enters the house and starts supporting Pari.Ishana though not aware of the 40 day secret still suspects Saumya's relationship with Sanjana and warns Dadaji about it.So Dadaji takes cauton about Pari and Saumya.Everyone is afraid of Dadaji in Saumya's house since he is the chairman of the company and so create a drama that Pari and Saumya re happy together.Pari also upports her husband and in laws.Meanwhile Pari faces danger on 20th day from water and 30th day from fire but escapes from both.After 30th day,Saumya falls ill and Pari starts taking care of him so well that Saumya starts losing heart to her selfless service.Also he sees Sanjana going away from his coz of his contagious disease but Pari takes care of him.So he starts losing heart to Pari and as the 40th day comes,he completely starts loving Pari more than his life.He decides to take care of Pari every moment on the 40th day.Dadaji also comes to know of the 40th day secret on the 40th day but Pari calms him down saying that Saumya loves her very much.Saumya takes Pari to meet her Danima and later spends time with her in a fun mela.HE understands her more that day and hence marries her again this time truly to correct his previous lies.Despite his caution,Pari meets with an accident in the lift.Saumya admits her in the hospital.Everyone from Pari's family come to the hospital and Dadaji tells everyone the truth about the drama played by Saumya and co in Pari's life.Aditya is so enraged that he puts Saumya and his parents in jail.They come out.Ishana too s more angry on her parents.Meanwhile Pari regains consciousness but loses her memories.So she is taken by her Danima,brother and Bhabhi to her own house.Saumya is stopped from meeting her,Saumya tries hard by standing outside Pari's house to explain that he has changed.Somehow manages to prove that he is changed to Pari's Danima Surekha but this time she is not ready to trust him completely.So she puts 40 day test to him.On the 20th day,Pari should recollect at least 1 instance from her past,30th Day she shold feel love for Saumya and on 40th day she should completely regain her memories.Saumya struggles and goes to th extent of putting his life in danger but finally succeeds in making Pari regain her memories.Sanjana and Kamya play a game even in this but Saumya's true love for Pari wins.Dadaji also inderstand Saumya's changed attitude and helps him out in winning Pari back.Kamya is still not changed but Abhay is changed and starts loving Pari like his daughter.Saumya and Pari start a beautiful life when the family drama starts.Dadaji had 2 more sons.The eldest 1 is Vijay who is married to Shelly and has a son Sameer.They own a business in America.Sameer and Saumya are estranged cousins.Abhay is Dadaji's second son.Dadaji's third son is Sanjay AKA BAplu.His wife is Nirmala.They have a daughter Jitisha married to Himesh.All of them come to attend Dadaji's 75th Birthday.Pari understands Dadaji's desire to have all his sons and DILs under 1 roof and takes steps to bring the family together.Saumya is not in agreement to this as he had bitterness with his cousins.Sameer is a spoilt brat not respecting elders.Pari fights against all odds.She even has a misunderstanding with Saumya.But she first manages to correct Sanjay,Nirmala and Jitisha.Jitisha accepts Saumya as her own brother and ties Rakhi.Saumya,a sensitive individual is touched by this and promises Pari that he will stay by his side and bring the family together.Meanwhile Pari gets pregnant and Saumya starts to love her more.Dadaji gets to see his sons happy together on his wife's death cewremony and dies peacefully on seeing this in the mean time.Sameer is still a spoilt brat.The truth that Sameer made his girlfriend Alisha pregnant comes out.Saumya and Pari request Sameer to marry Alisha.Sameer agrees to this on 1 condition that Saumya and Pari leave the house.Saumya and Pari agree to this and leave the house when Pari is running her delivery date.This changes Shelley and Vijay and Shelly apologizes to Kamya which changes Kamya's mind too.So everyone are loving and together now except for Sameer.Vijay anounces Saumya as the new chairman of the company.Sameer gets mad and leaves the house and runs onto a cliff.Saumya goes behind him to pacify him but ends up in losing his life thereby saving Sameer's life.This changes Sameer's attitude too.But Kamya gets angry on Sameer and also on Pari that she pulled Saumya into the task of bringing the family together.Sameer marries Alisha as per Saumya's wish.Meanwhile PAri gives birth to a boy.The doctor in the hospital,Dr.Manav's wife Pallavi also gives birth to a boy and dies the same day.Manav and Pari's child are exchanged.And Pari's child dies.Dr.Manav recognizes that the dead child is not his child,by using a birth mark and goes to get his child back from Pari.But when he sees Pari feeding his baby,he doesn't have heart to take it back and leaves it with her.The boy is named Shubham.Alisha too delivers a boy and is named as Shivam.Sameer now takes care of both the children and so does Pari.But Kamya takes the hcild from Pari and doesn't allow her to spend time with her son.But since Pari and Shubham live in the same house,they are happy.Sameer announces Shubham as the new chairman of the company and this enrages Alisha.She is angry that Shubham gets more attention than Shivam.Dr.Manav has a cunning family with his step mom and step brother who torture him.Now the story has taken a 5 year leap.Children are now 5 years old.Still Kamya is angry with Pari and Sameer and Alsiha is mad at Sameer for giving more attention to Shubham.
