Is Main Teri Parchayi Hoon yet anoth- er family drama? It's another Rajshri show. We're introducing Megha Gupta and Sameer Dharmadhikari. I wouldn't call it drastically different but the treatment is fresh. Our shows are primarily made for viewers who want family values and emotions, and usually have a social message. What's Main Teri Parchayi's message? How a single moment can change lives. It revolves around an incident that brings two women together and also changes them completely . Why are you always keen on casting newcomers in your shows? Not always. The idea is to pick actors who haven't formed an image as yet. I have nothing against established actors, it's just that this show didn't demand one. You tasted success with your very first show, Woh Rehenewali Mehelon Ki. (Smiles) And it's still going strong. Recently, when we killed off Saumya, a section of the viewers protested. A lot of the credit for its popularity goes to my technicians. Weren't the Rajshris supposed to make Sapna Baabul Ka.. Bidaai for Star Plus? What went wrong? Nothing went wrong. We mutually decided not to work on it. When we were planning it, Bidaai was just a concept. What's coming on air right now is an entirely different product. I haven't seen the show. Isn't it a replica of the Rajshri film Vivah? It's important to understand and accept that we're all inspired by what we see around us. Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was inspired by Nadiya Ke Uss Paar. On television, most shows are inspired by plays or books. It's perfectly fine. By the way, if you're drawing simi- larities, you could even say it's like Saat Phere, right? From Woh Rehenewali.. to Main Teri Parchayi.. how was the journey been? Very memorable. I've realised that television provides livelihood to so many households. With films getting more and more expensive, I'd be glad if we can deliver a Rajshri film to our audience in their living rooms. Any expansion plans? There should be growth and there will be. My dad Kamal babu, uncle Raj babu and Soorajji are involved in the new wing of Rajshri Productions.
