Kamya Punjabi refuses to go grey in Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki after working in the show for two years. The actress has quit as she does not want to play the role of a grandmother. She spoke to the production house a month ago and requested them to remove the character. Currently, she is also working in Banoo Mein Teri Dulhann.

Says Kamya, who's 28 years old, "I was playing mother-in-law in the show and I quite liked my role. Now with the story moving on and the next generation coming in, I have been turned into a grandmother. I am not at all comfortable playing this role and hence refused to do it.

She adds, "I wasn't convinced although the production house promised me a good character. I appreciate that they agreed to my suggestion considering that I have a very important character in the show. Today is my last day of shoot."

Kamya now wants to do a variety of roles and is interested in experimenting with comedy. For the next two months however, she wants to concentrate only on Dulhann.

I wonder if they plan on killing Kamya off, or recasting her. They might as well just end her character...all hope of her every changing is lost.

Thanks for the article. I wish her the best with everything in her life. I agree no 28 year should have to play a grand mother it was bad enough she had to play MIL. I like her as Sindoora more in BMTD.

i wonder if they will kill kamya.............nope they will not......they're goin to get a new kamya.......because it said tht they were sayin tht she will have an important role.......so they can't just kill her off..........i wonder who it'll be..........by the way kamya did a gud job at bein a EVIL mother-in-law 😆 😆

i think she's kinda rite quitting this show..
i mean she played a mother of a guy who'e around her age, now they want her to play granmother...nno way...

I prefer killing her.After the long list of so many positive characters Raj,Rajendra,Rani,Prince,Raksha,Dadaji,Saumya,Pari's baby, at least 1 negative character has to die.They can think of introducing new male and female leads but the same negative character should continue or what?

great..... every1's dying n quitting the show.... first abhay, dadaji, saumya n now kamya........ i wondered if pari's also gonna leave the show.........
seriously this show has nothing to watch.... it's really boring.......... everybody leave the show........

but i seriously think kamya really did good by leaving the show......

Yes she is too young.
Dadaji died, Soumyia died, Lil soumyia died, from what i hear khushi is gonna die and rohit is leaving. And now Kamyia leaving.
