What was the need to do Time Pass?
Going by the initial brief given to me by the director, it was supposed to be a youthful sex-comedy with its share of music and romance. Honestly speaking, from what I have shot in Time Pass I figured that it pales in comparison to overtly sex-laden flicks like Murder, Sheesha and Tezaab.

There is a fantasy dream sequence between the heroine (Mona Chopra) and me, but I never felt that it was obscene.

Is it true that you refused to shoot a passionate smooching scene?
That's right. I didn't want to do a particular kissing scene because it was not there in the script and it would have looked contrived. Since I was not convinced about it, I backed out of the hot shot. But if there is genuine demand in the script for a lip-lock scene, I am game for it.

The Poster Approval Committee has banned suggestive posters of Time Pass where the heroine is holding a pack of popcorn and you are standing behind with a protruding hand. Comment.

Believe me, I have not stood behind the heroine in that photograph. If you look closely, you'll notice that I'm looking elsewhere. Obviously, they have superimposed the two pictures to make an alluring impact.

In fact, I had major tiffs with the director on various counts. They even got someone else to dub my dialogues although I had insisted on doing it myself.

What is challenging about the lead character you are playing in Sooraj Barjatya's mega- serial Woh Rehnewali Mahalonki on Sahara One?
It's a very controlled character and I have to act with utmost restraint, even in romantic scenes. Sanjeevani watchers will have a major surprise in store because my sober character Raj is in sheer contrast to my extrovert Dr Aman.

In typical Rajshri style, there are lavish production values and several songs for various occasions. I play a professional working in a multinational and Reena Kapoor is cast as my love interest.
