Honestly, Raj should have been shot instead of Raman.

I agree that in rural India it is a possibility.
In my opinion, soaps ought to be a little more sensible than to glorify underage and child marriage.
They ought to stop glorifying marriage as the be all and end all of the world.
Nothing ever seems to be important in these characters' lives, but falling in love and getting married. They just don't seem to have a life other than that!
The men are seen wasting their lives. And the women are cooped up in the kitchens and crying all the time.
It's the mindset that needs to change.
I am very much an Indian and live in India. But maybe I am not so much of a soap Indian! These things do irk me maybe because I don't watch so many soaps.

You know what? I am yet to see a woman (or couple) on Indian TV who does not want a child, EVER. I'm pissed off by how Indian TV gives off the impression that all people want children and thereby all people are fit to be parents. This is so untrue.

On Indian television, the only reason one wouldn't have a child is because they're barren. Even then, their devrani or jethani will give them a child out of pity or they will adopt an orphan. If the couple aren't infertile, they'll have a child in the middle of the soap amidst sone massive misunderstanding followed by a leap or they'll be expecting a child in the last episode. In the rare instance that a woman gets pregnant but says she's not ready for a child just yet, she changes her mind right before having an abortion, usually because of the manip- LOVING husband.

I know this isn't the right place to rant about this but will we ever see a married woman who says point blank 'I never want children and I will never change my mind'? These stereotypes shown on TV just contribute to the societal pressure to get married and have kids because it's apparently the most important thing in life.

South Asian societies:
Married, have at least one son - successful
Married, only have female children - successful or unsuccessful depending on how backwards the community is
Unmarried - unsuccessful, no matter whether you have a successful career or not
Divorced, no children - failure but maybe there's still hope, maybe someone will pity you and marry you
Rape victim - same as divorced
Divorced, have children - ultimate failure, there's no hope for you, no one will want you anymore

Like I said before, you should read our old posts. I clarified all of this age stuff earlier.

Raj was two years old when Amba was almost full term with Preet. Raj is at least twenty. By the time the leap happened, Preet was eighteen but we have no idea when her birthday was. In the event that she was like eighteen and a half on her wedding day and Raj was about two and a half when Preet was born, he could've easily been twenty one at the time of his marriage.

As for their marriage being illegal if Raj is indeed underage, I guess it doesn't really matter if both parties are consenting and no one calls the police. Amba was fifteen when she married Charan. Simran was fifteen when she was going to marry Chandar (Raj gave Manu the idea to call the police). She and Raman were both around fifteen when they were going to marry each other.

Preet was born the next day after bhesaki festival ( sorry if I spelt it wrong 😛, btw isn't that the same day charan died? ) so I guess that's when her birthday is ( again sorry for any grammatical errors. )

I stopped watching Waaris after I saw the preview or promo of raj's contract drama. I finding it hard to believe that sakshi will turn positive. This might be her or mohini plan. But if she really turns out positive then I might start watching Waaris again.
It will be good if she turns out to a positive character ( I'm still finding it hard to believe as how she tortured simi by scaring her. )As raj doesn't deserve SD (as he is just using her) or preet.

Deciding to not have children, I would say, is far too progressive.
These Hindi soaps haven't even reached a point where it is a common scenario for the women to work. No sorry, for the men to work. All that the men are seen to be doing is gossiping and plotting and planning.
I am a Tamilian and I have been brought with Tamil mega seriels. Tamil soaps are no way better than their Hindi counterparts, but atleast, the men work. Why only men? The women work. Most FLs work. And they hold better positions than their husbands!

I find it too much of a cultural shock.

Isn't that date in April? But Preet was born in a May episode. Not that time and age really matter in soaps. I can't remember whether it was Charan's death which shocked Amba into labour or if it was just the call of nature.
The leap happened in March but Preet was said to be eighteen. If her birthday was in April, they were either calling her eighteen before she actually was or she was two months off being nineteen. Can't be the latter because she is still said to be eighteen now. But the former option seems silly, even for this show. I stopped trying this figure out Preet's birthday back when I wrote Kismet.

Men walk around the house wearing designer business suits but money seems to roll in without any of them having to do any work. Well, the young men anyway. I guess their dads do all the work and give them all the money they need, no questions asked.
But we can all agree when I say that men think are the heads of their households but in reality, they are mere puppets in the hands of their female counterparts, whether it's their wife, sister, daughter or mother. It's hilarious. The idiots are all talk no action and pretty much just stand behind the females and watch silently as an argument over something as stupid as a key plays out right in front of them.

That's what I am wishing right now. At-least Raman wouldn't rant "tune mere veerji ko mara" all the time. Who knew that Raj would become such a hated character at the time? Changing his character to negative was such a shock to all of us. As one person mention if Raj looks 21 or not, can someone tell me Neel's actual age? I know Farnaz will turn 26 next month, so I am trying to know their age difference.

The leap took place on 7th March , not February. On 6th March, Raman and Simran were shot and the following episode started with the leap. So next week, it will be 5 months since the leap and still the truth of that murder shows no sign of coming out. I just read an article that Aarti is set to quit the show soon which means Amba won't be there for long. I think it was in TellyChakkar. She really gave her best performance for the show.

Preeti, I don't believe SD can become good either. IRL, someone like her would never become a good person. However, this is a soap and a very silly one at that. Anything can happen. I don't understand why Vindhya leaving has to mean that SD turns positive. She can just make an exit as a negative character. What on earth would turn her positive anyway? RajPreet getting married twice didn't make her back off. RajPreet kissing didn't make her back off. All of the various signs of Raj's obvious attraction to and lust for Preet didn't make her back off.
What's got to happen? Does she need to walk in on them having sex to finally gather some self respect and walk away?
