Seeing her and raj's friendship. I was really excited for the leap before raman murder as the news of leap came a bitbefore that . I thought that Raj will protect mannu after knowing her identity and help her. I thought he will be like charan and after seeing how his father treated his mother i thought he would support women with mannu and in there process /mission of fighting for rights of women and ending bajwa Pawania Enimity slowly there friendship will blossom into romance . 😭. Even at the episode at the rasim marriage when raman died for a moment i thought that Raj would get the will to walk for his brother .

Even I thought Raj would be Preet's support and that they would fall in love, slowly, while she was still pretending to be a guy. I thought she would be a boy for a lot longer. As I've said many times before, this show could've gone a lot of ways.
BTW, yes, that's what I meant by paranoid brackets.

I also that they would fall in love while she was still pretending to be a boy . The way the serial have butchered raj's character and bring SD. ..I'm heartbroken 😭😭. I had so much expectations with the leap. ..with mannu and rajpreet

Btw sorry. I'll stop writing the paranoid bracket. On a lighter note Delia you always come up with interesting names 😆

Healing waaris is impossible guys. What we can do is have these discussions and hope that cvs get the point... I don't know why FLs are supposed to be doormats? Are women really so lame? Or is marriage really so bad that it takes away a girl's voice to fight for her rights?

Is anyone amongst us married? If yes then please answer this question. This makes me really scared. I am a very outspoken girl. Blunt even. They say television shows are a reflection of our society. Is this what a girl becomes post marriage? This what our society really like?

I also never expected him to go to Delhi. I thought that Raj would hate Manu for a while, realise that Manu is innocent but then Manu would be angry at him for losing faith in her. Then I thought that they would grow up as enemies but still have a soft spot for each other; Raj would feel bad for ever doubting Manu whereas Manu would have forgiven Raj by then. Like you know, cute bickering and all that when you secretly don't dislike the person as much as you act like you do. Then Raj would accidently discover that Manu is a girl and they would grow close and become friends again as well develop feelings.

Interesting names? Thanks.

There are all shades of people in this world. And soaps just take an aspect of it and work on it.
90% of viewers are women. That's why the soaps have FLs. And somewhere in the Stone Age, people believed that good women should be meek and should bear the responsibility of everyone smilingly. That's what has lead to these stereotypes.
And it sells. It makes the FLa have an emotional connect with the audience.

A silent member of this forum is married but she's so fed up with this show that she can't bring herself to comment anymore. Miss her 😭
I live in the UK so I can't really comment. I'm not married but my cousins who are seem pretty happy. Of course, many people here just get divorced if they're incompatible with their spouses. Even then, I don't want to get married because it would be very difficult for a guy to put up with me and for me to adjust to married life.

The main reason Hindi serials portray women like this is because TRP aunties are constantly abuses by their husband and in laws, so they can relate to weak FLs.

That's the whole thing. My cousins are married and they are happy and have healthy relationships. Not to overtly praise my family or anything, but my family has a lot of flaws but gender discrimination is not one of them.( By family I mean cousins and uncles)

By the daily soap standards our family is quite scandalous. So I have never really seen a families quite like the daily soap ones. Is it because I live in illusionary bubble of my own or is it because this crap is intended for the rural audience? I live in a city.

Having said that, I recently visited a village where Amul butter and ice creams were a novelty till about a couple of years ago. Amul is a very popular brand where I live. So it came as a shock. They would get bread only on Sunday morning, that to in limited quantities. If you were lucky enough to reach in time then great, otherwise sorry... Women still avoid traveling alone during the day let alone at night. A woman who rides a scooty is called modern. This village is actually only a couple of hours drive from a very big metropolitan city. So as you leave the city behind, the life changes drastically.

The lives of rural women is not so good. Or is in fact horrible. So maybe this crap is meant for them. Because they definitely will not like a strong girl who takes on the world. It would seem unrealistic to them when they themselves are trapped in their own homes...

That's what even I used to think. But women who are abused don't watch soaps. The husbands or the in laws are the ones with the remote controls. They just watch what they are allowed to.

No wait!

Maybe THAT'S why the soaps have weak FLs! So that these women are allowed to watch! The saas says to her already abused DIL - "Learn something from Preet! See how much she tolerates without opposing! You ought to be ashamed of yourself!"

First of all, Harjeet has to leave this show. Have this character killed for goodness sake. No need for him to turn good guy or be forgiven. Raman's murder should be solved within the next week. I know they cannot sort it out this week as there is a Mahasangham. Raj has to stop blaming Preet all the time. I know that he was very close to his brother but there is no need for him to remind her or all of us that he is hurt. If he considers Preet to be Raman's murderer, then he should have her arrested. That is the only sensible thing to do. Plus he needs to get a job as well. Also get rid of the Panchyat as they don't know what they are doing. I mean we don't see them often but appears magically when decision has to be made. I often have this question in my mind about Indian serials. I have watched Swaragini and Razia Sultan before. The lead actresses were Helly Shah and Pankury Awasthi respectively. And now seeing Farnaz Shetty in Waaris. I notice that the lead actresses in the shows are often the shortest ones. Is it a requirement? I can only think that it makes them easy victims in the show.
