What a lovely beginning, but the rest of the episode was a big let-down. Will someone please tell Mother India to stop being so pious? Even her halo has started bleeding.😕
The epi opens with our much-loved Dum Tara tune and Sush and Vasu's wedding dream. Predictably enough, it ends with Vasu waking up and chastising herself for dreaming something so "sinful". Shalini comes and shows her the newspaper announcement of DRS's birthday.
Nani and Bua are busy in the arrangements, when Sush arrives. Vedika comes down and (when Nani and Bua are out of earshot) tells him to stop coming to meet her, as she has decided not to marry him. She returns his ring and says she is going back to Vikram. Vasu pulls her away and asks if she has gone mad; whom does she love—Vikram or Sushant? Vedika says she loves only her child; and she has realized that family is the most important thing, so she should be with the man who will love her child the most. She asks Vasu not to act so coy since she knows her heart is leaping up at the thought of Sush being free.
When Sush goes and tells his mother, she tries hard to disguise her relief. But he says, "Just because I'm not marryng Vedika, doesn't mean I will marry Vasudha." Uttara gets upset and asks if he doesn't want to trust her judgment. He finally bows before her pressure and says that she can fix his marriage with anyone she wants to. Uttara promises herself she will bring back happiness into his life.
Vikram is drowning his sorrows in drink; his alter ego chides him saying Vasu was right, he has suffered the most because of his stubbornness. The bell rings; Uttara is at the door. She tells him that Sush and Vasu might soon get married and that Ved wants to marry the father of her child. He says its better not to dream the impossible. She explains to him that he still doesn't want Vedika to become someone else's; it's only his ego that is stopping him from marrying her, so she has come to ask for his hand for Vedika. She also says that what Vedika did by bribing for his promotion, was out of love, to see him prosper.
Nani gets a call from Uttara inviting them all home, to fix Vasu and Sush's wedding. She happily tells Vedant the great news and says Uttara has been a God-send. But Vasu feels that Sush is not happy with this match, otherwise he himself would have come home.
Shreya calls a lawyer about Sid's case. When she puts the phone down, she sees Vedika. She sarcastically congratulates her on going back to ACP Vikram Agarkar, who is falsely framing her husband. Vedika says she knows Sid is innocent in this case, but not entirely honest in general, and that Shreya knows it. She also says no one is all good, everyone is mediocre. But she promises to go talk to Vikram.
Sid is giving sound bytes to media about the "corrupt" ACP who framed him. After the media leaves, Vedika arrives. While Shreya is outside addressing them, Ved tells him that he can do nothing in this condition; first he should get out. She shows him the key to his handcuffs that the police have accidentally dropped, and advises him to make his exit.
Vasu is looking at DRS's photo and thinking that her promise to him is nearly fulfilled, when a bleeding Vedika stumbles in. They ask her in horror, who has done this. She mumbles "Vikram." They are all stunned.
