For now it's better she just accepts the reality and ensures that her future shows have all the necessary dramatic elements to rake in the TRPs

The one word Smriti Iraani hates right now is TRPs. Her show Virrudh will wrap up soon. And that's mainly because of poor TRPs (Television Rating Points). Recently at a symposium held in Mumbai, Smriti was arguing vociferously about the manner in which TRPs are garnered.

'How can a handful people decide what the entire nation wants to watch' was her argument.

Well Smriti may have a point there, but the bottomline is there is no other mechanism to gauge what people are watching except the existing one. For now it's better she just accepts the reality and ensures that her future shows have all the necessary dramatic elements to rake in the TRPs.

i totally agree wid da article....how can a handful ofppl decide what others watch....frankly i thought viruddh is a gr8 show with a different concept & gr8 starcast....sum ppl obviously didnt think so....however, every1 is entitled 2 their opinion....thanx 4 da article.

I think Ekta buys TRPs otherwise there is no logical explanation for her shows to have high TRPs. Ekata serials are full of nonsensical, illogical, ridiculous and unethical stories. thats my personal opinion.

same here thats soo unfair,this show is great and many people like it,soo y are they just removing it!😕

i totally agree with her. They are forcing such good shows to end based on a technicality called TRP's! What happens to those who do not want to watch those crappy saans bahu shows? What happens to versitality? I am just sick of these tv shows and all the new promos are showing the same kinda crap.

shows like ELAS just keep going on and on with its senseless plots and the TRP's apparently are still strong! I just don't get how its possible that people don't get sick of rubbish on TV.
