Talking Out with Achint kaur |
Not only is she a parallel lead in Smriti Iraani's Virrudh, she's also back as the vamp of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii |

Mumbai, August 24: After playing a vamp, how does it feel romancing in Virrudh? I like doing romantic roles. It's just that my last two well-known characters, Mandira in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Pallavi in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, have been vamps. Pallavi has shown occasional romantic streaks but since she lives in extremes, her love track might have appeared obsessive and negative. Your Vedika Raisinghania in Virrudh is emerging as a parallel lead. Would you call it your most satisfying character so far? |
I was never off Kahaani though my character had taken a backseat post the generation jump. But now Pallavi is back with a vengeance irrespective of a change in name. Pallavi is a very interesting and difficult character to play because she isn't plain mad. As for Kyunki, the show has too many vamps at the moment. Do you still have a dream role?
From Banegi Apni Baat, Saaya and Kitty Party to Kyunki, Kahani and Virrudh, I've done all kinds of roles. I'd like to do something mentally challenging and slightly different.
With channels increasingly monopolising actors, how do you manage playing two important characters in two primetime dailies on two rival channels?
Two shows are manageable, three shows are hectic; I'm also doing Karam Apna Apna. I guess because of my seniority, my schedules are well accommodated and I haven't faced any problems from the production houses or channels in spite of playing central characters
