Actor

Did you plan to become an actor?
Not really, as I was more interested in direction and I also did a diploma course in direction.

How then did you get into acting?
It happened naturally, moreover I am interested in every aspect of cinema, and hence I felt I must try my hand at acting as well.

Have you had any formal training in acting?
Fortunately I have acted in IPTA plays and I have also worked with Satyadev Dubey and Om Katare.

Which is your current serial and what is your role?
I am acting in the popular serial Smriti Irani's Viruddh (Sony TV). I play a village reporter whose name is Nirmohi. It is a deglamorised role of a person who hails from the village and arrives in Mumbai.

Are you happy with the role?
It is an interesting role as I have to interact with my senior Anjan Shrivastav and other main artists and there is enough scope for acting.

In which other serials have you acted till now?
The telefilms that I have acted in are Jane Anjane, Officers Coach (DD) and Mission Circle X. My role in Mission Circle is most memorable for me as I play the commandent in Border Security Force for which I had to go through physical training and the usage of arms and ammunition in Udhampur. It was a challenge for me to do such a role.

What type of roles do you like to do?
As an actor I feel one should not have any inhibition, otherwise you won't grow as an actor. People still remember my negative role in Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Star TV).

Is your family supportive?
I lost my father when I was six years old, since then it is my elder sister who has been taking care of me and she is a sharp critic, which I really appreciate.

Your best moment in life?
Yet to arrive.
