This is what you call a real power packed-performance—Aman Verma's in Viraasat on Star Plus. The actor is in full form as Rishabh Lamba in Ravi Chopra's prime time daily. "I do enjoy myself. He's a very interesting character. And, I love working with Raviji. He is such a fabulous human being. I am having a ball on the show," says Verma. Lamba in Viraasat is the one who looks after the Lamba family business.
Initially, the actor wanted to play the role now essayed by Amar Upadhyay who is the Municipal Commissioner Kunal Kharbanda and believes in playing things by the book. "I thought it would suit my personality but Raviji told me to try out Rishabh as it was different from what I had done previously. And I am happy I did it by the response I am getting—that is very good. People seem to enjoy hating Rishabh Lamba and I love that," adds he.

A little bit about his character for those who haven't been following the show. Rishabh's younger brother played by Rohit Roy has married their rival's daughter played by Sangeeta Ghosh, "and Rishabh believes that she is here to destroy their family. Therefore, in order to protect his family he steps forward and crosses all lines—he will do anything," explained Verma, "I think anybody would do the same. So I don't think Rishabh Lamba is an out and out negative character. Yes, he will not listen to anyone—instead he tells others what to do," explains Verma.

With his sterling performance, it is all the more surprising that Aman, who at one time used to have between four to six shows on air, simultaneously, isn't doing anything else on television. "I am trying to focus on Viraasat completely and am trying to give the role my best. Working hard on the character. That doesn't mean I don't want to do different stuff. Hopefully, I will give you some good news soon," hints Verma.
Verma does have some big films coming up in the near future. There is Ravi Chopra's Babul in which he plays Hema Malini's younger brother. "It has shades of the negative," is all Verma will reveal. Then. There is Shirish Kunder's Jaaneman with Salman, Akshay, Preity Zinta "which is an out and out comedy. And I enjoyed doing it. Good fun," smiles Aman. Everything is looking quite rosy to the actor at the moment and he'll be hoping it only gets better.
