As an 11 year old, even I romanticised that sort of behaviour and maybe part of the female psyche finds it sexually arousing too(s and m/bdsm) but it’s quite toxic if we see that from a real life perspective. As a 23 year old educated woman, I don’t think I would ever date a man like Arnav now, someone who has both physically and emotionally abused Khushi and has alot of red flags. The whole beauty changes the beast with her love is unrealistic tbh.

Arnav never got a redemption track not even bothered to say a single sorry to khushi and moreover his confession was also in anger. No matter how much I loved 'i love u damn it' i can't take in what situation it was done. if she agreed to suhaagraat he would've never confessed to her. That's kind of lame writing

I hated it when they made Lavanya into a Khushi clone because Nani wanted a “susheel sanskari bharatiya nari”🤡. They literally changed her personality and made her a khushi ripoff. Their whole subliminal messaging that women who wear western/short clothes like dresses or skirts are immoral and promiscuous? To be an ideal woman, u had to be domesticated and homely.😒It was 2011 and yet policing women’s bodily autonomy and choices in desi culture was so rampant! And this persists throughout the serial. Also Khushi’s costumes were cringe as hell. Heck even Payal had better costumes! The worst styling I’ve ever seen. As much as I loved ipkknd , I just have to call as spade a spade! The fact that Khushi literally crossdressed as an school peon but can’t wear track pants for a basketball game because I guess that was against “indian culture”🤦‍♀️ Also her character towards the end just became really clownish in some tracks but yeah Sanaya carried it off with her acting!

I would suggest you to drop this one out if you have bare minimum common sense about how a healthy relationship looks like. I get that drama is named as it is for a reason but till an extent. Arnav was red flag through and through, Khushi was a doormat, anjali was dumber than dumbest and rest of the characters were equally toxic or backbone less.

Finally someone said what was needed to be said.

I am gonna be downvoted but just like kyun ki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi totally changed the trajectory of Indian family dramas same Iss pyar ko kya nam doon has changed Indian romcom dramas worst possible way.

I myself used to be a huge fan back then in my highschool. Crush on him but when I look back I understand where it came from I can't even stand single scene of them without remembering how horrible Arnav was to Khushi and he never got any redemption, not even a sorry. They totally whitewashed him under disguise of love.

An example spoiler if you haven't reached it yet, after shyam exposed drama, khushi wanted to move away but Arnav king had realized his love so instead of making him beg khushi for what he did to her out of a dumb as f*** assumption in short tempter(yes I call it dumb because in that conversation with Shyam khushi clearly looked uncomfortable), he planned to scare tf outta her, so that she comes running to hug him? And that proves she can't live without him? Wtf!!!!!!!!!!

How is this show still being romanticized in 2024 where you know the influence in nostalgia is beyond my understanding. I also enjoyed it when I was unaware of a lot of things but please grown up women can do a lot better than this I am not kidding.

Everyday I see on twitter noone did it like them. They did what? Whatever they did noone should do even. Good actors, good chemistry, good background music that's all the asset of this show. No depth in story, a tone deaf ML, hyper fluctuating FL's breathing they did nothing. That was just our childhood conditional thinking a toxic man and submissive woman are romantic. The more rudeness, controlling and nonconsensual the more romance.

This is just mirror reflection version of how incels hail movies like animal Kabir Singh nothing else.

Reviews like these made me thankful that I haven't watched it

This was why i found the show to be toxic

Like when he assumed that she was having an affair with his BIL he forcefully marries her to save his sister's marriage , like WTF?

Thank goodness these things never affect me. Maybe It will be in my mind and I will think for a day or 2 but it won't get me tensed etc. The last time a tv show that troubled me was BB13 because I'd high noise and BP raising stuff. After that I watched a lot of Bigg Boss on Mute. smiley36

Imagine people start analyzing CID/Arjun and all those crime thriller fictions with how really stuff works u real police station. smiley37smiley39

That's one reason trash works. Because everyone knows it's trash and will never happen in reality. So people watch it for escape from reality/daily life/work.

Wait you don't get affected by these things? smiley37Yrkkh season 3?

^Thats the reason i never watched IPKKND, or any Gul shows for that matter, i only watched Arjun coz it was crime show nd she was not the only producer and IPZN coz it was finite and better than other shows of her.

Neither 12 yr old me nor a 24 yr old me could accept that, i came across few clips of that show nd understood how toxic it is.

And also, irl or not, fictional shows do affect ppl's mindset. Like MB and RK did (shows were fictional in many ways), for some in good for some in worst... so even these toxic shows do.

We also see ppl defending these toxic char nowadays, earlier they used to call them out (i guess) but now they romanticise and defends those toxic ML nd victim blaming ka kya hi kehna we all know abt it.

Bolne ki baat lo

Main fiction ko fiction ki tarah lungi, tum log loge.

But sab nahi lete

We have seen people taking inspiration from shows, movies to do a crime.

& it isn't about India but it is same around the world..

i don't even remember this show mostly so can't comment on the toxicitysmiley39

but would comment on @B::

Nowadays editors are not bothering to use their brains while writing POVs on the edit. I've come across some thousands of yrkkh edits and i saw one of them having a pov about how "badass" and "cool" a working woman is (ref: arohi and abhira) and how clowish, lachaar, bechari a woman who chooses love over career is (ref akshara 2.0 and ruhi). I mean ok. We all know that being financially independent does empower a woman but is it right to demean and look down upon women who choose to be homemakers? No. In fact a homemaker has the same pressure (or maybe more) as a woman who has a manager yapping at her.

and this is not just with yrkkh editors. there are several reels where you'll find editors using the most shitty POVs even for religious reels. smiley39

I agree

Everything was okay but don't add Ruhi

Uss bandi ne apni family ko kangal karwa diya for her 2 min love.

She is nor women works outside the house, nor inside, rather is a horrible Human.

She will spoil anyone's life for her delulu thoughts.

She has no self respect, consciousness, morality or humanity.

Aside Vandana calls him Dakku Bhai and he is never shown minding that. Jetha will commit suicide if Babita calls him Jetha Bhai

Please watch this video from 7:30 - 9:30....he keeps tabs of what she does and where she goes , there is nothing platonic about this , this is peak of obsession which is played for laughs smiley36
