Ever since I heard that ONR had resigned, I had a real "mood out". It was as if the very foundation of VR had collapsed. When I found out who the replacement was, my heart sank even further. It was the director who had directed the first 500 episodes of Azhagi. I hated Azhagi. It was full of crooks and cheap dialogue. I had/have this fear that this director is going to drag the serial down to Azhagi's level.

I thought what Rani said was totally out of character. She has a big heart and for her to spout that garbage against Vani was just not right. I agreed with her for the first five minutes but I could only listen in horror and then disgust as she was talking like guttersnipe. Iva enna pombalae etc is not the kind of abuse you throw at your sister.

And Swamy. How dare he come out with such cheap garbage? I HATE HATE HATE men who talk like that - and it has appeared in my favourite serial now! I cant forgive the dialogue writer for writing that trash. And I hate women like Rani who justify their husband's behaviour. Even their children talk about their Periamma's behaviour, but not one felt to say something about their father's behaviour. Men like that disgust me. 😡 If my father said that about my mother, I dont know what I will do.

ONR did tell me that the sisters would separate - and he said Vani will say to Rani " For your son's life, my son must sacrifice his life"...to which Rani will retort "Oh all this while you said I have five children and not two children. Now you pirichu pakkirirya? Eppa nee pirichi pakka panna thongithiyo, unakkum ennakum onnum ille" and she will leave the house. At least if the scenario developed this way, I would have had sympathy for Rani. But right now I detest both Rani and Swamy for their cheap minds and behaviour.

So right now I dont have the mood to write reviews...but I will do my best.

The good news is that Ravi VC is only temporary. RC Ramcamroon -the second director of VR, who is now directing Kalyana Parisu - will be back.

And for those rumourmongers who think that Rathnam was asked to leave because of Poongodi and Saravanan story, get your stupid muddled heads right. Rathnam resigned. Radhikaa asked him to stay but he wanted to work in other projects where he would be independent. Yes, you idiots,. he was for Poongodi Saravanan but he was vetoed. And once they decided to go with Poongodi Karthik, not only he had to direct that story but he had to justify it. And this serial is not about Poongodi and Saravanan., It is Vani Rani. Sorry to say this but Maanas cannot act, cannot emote and everything about him seems forced.

I second your thoughts Karthi ma. These days I don't have the same interest which I had when ONR was around. 😭 .

I never knew that Rani had a grudge against her own sister. Does that mean she was just acting innocent all these years just becoz her sister was taking care of her kids?? Selfish woman. How stupid. Total character damage. I could never imagine that Saami could stoop so low ,that too, in front of his own kids & others. I just felt like slapping Sara & Selvi when they kept saying what Periamma did was wrong. I know hitting is wrong but that was not intensional. Vani did that only becoz Sami was bad mouthing Rani😡. Anyway all is well that ends well. Let's see how they are gonna end this. As far as now, no sympathies for Rani nor Sami. I support Vani & Gautam. Even though I didn't like Gautam taking decision without consulting his parents but it shows how much love & respect he has for the selfish Rani😡 & family.

So this director is just temporary. Good to know that. How is RC's direction? I don't watch kalyani parisu.

Thanks Karthi ma for putting up your thoughts here. Appreciate it.

Thanks for your response Sang. The dialogues were terrible - she even talked about washing dishes as a child and letting her sister study and now she regrets doing it - but she was not good at school anyway...and what happened to her gratitude that Vani saved her from the child slaver?s

Agreed Karthika, Im an ardent Vani fan and couldnt digest the dialogues spitted out by Rani. To me Vani is how exactly a female should be. Call her arrogant, selfish etc but if it wasnt for her, right from Selvi's marriage issue to Rani's hotel business, everything would still have been a problem. and to make it worse, not one of those people stood up for her during Rani's accusation. I was looking forward to the sister's separation as it would make the storyline more interesting but those few epi's was too much to handle. i hated the dialogues that was given to Rani especially about washing the vessel - it was way over. It simply spoiled Rani's character!
I don't think I'll be satisfied with any excuse given by Rani in the future for her behavior.

Precisely. And she kept going on about her sister is not equal to her veetukarar's kaal thoosi. I nearly threw up. Talk about being delusional. Is this the same woman who was brutally honest about her husband that he chased her out of the house? The kallu and pullu sentiment does not work in the 21st Century.

Thank you Karthikka for taking the time to write these thoughts 👏👏👏 Please do continue your reviews 👍🏼
Agreed, I think the above mentioned would have been a more acceptable explanation. Poor Vani - she didn't deserve all that venom for slapping Swami - he did deserve it for questioning Rani's character 🤢 What he did was not to be justified.
There is a saying in Tamil - "Theeyinaal sutta pun aarividum, naavinaal sutta pun aarathu"
(The wound from a fire may heal; it may not be so for the wounds caused by poisonous words) I believe the likewise is said for Swami and Rani - but for the sake of the sisters' relationship, I hope Vani will overlook their words - though we all know how hurting they were. She is sensible but like everyone else, she also has feelings.
I feel sad looking at Rani's state. Yes, Vani could have been more understanding but Rani completely twisted all the facts out of proportion and at the same time has forgotten all the help her sister has rendered her - Did Anaconda possess her or something? 😭 Looking at Tuesday's episode it looks like she is going to have that disorder again 😭 (Like the one she had when she left the house the first time).
Hope MOM puts Rani straight.

Thanks Karthikka..

Agreed.. Rani was right in first few minutes of her conversation.. Then she really went out of control..

If Swami considers Vani as his mother and Rani accepted that fact, why doesn't she give the rights to the mother of correcting her son when he said such a filthy thing.. Also, Vani apoligised immediately..

I too not convinced with the screenplay and dialogues for separating the sisters..

Yes, Ravi and Nithya, you both echo my sentiments. This is character assasination.

Apparently all the cast members were shocked when they heard the news and everyone - men and women - cried. They stayed way past midnight trying to make him change his mind. They really miss him and are also mood out.

My source tells me that there was no problem between him n Radhikaa..in fact she asked him to stay on.

The lest I say about the new director, the better.

When I, being a fan of his work, felt so shocked, sad & totally disappointed, I can imagine how the cast members would have felt. They had been together with him for the past 2 years in all good & bad times. Wish they changed his mind!! Miss his work a lot. 😭😭

Thanks Karthi ma for sharing this.
So Karthi, what's ONR's plans now? Any new projects for Sun or other tv?
