The 'sans make-up' look may be in, but that doesn't mean that it may work always. That's what Munisha Khatwani found out recently. The actor, who is playing a vamp in Vaidehi, told BT, "I was at the Chennai airport on my way back from Tirupati. After travelling for a long time I was very tired and wasn't looking my usual self. In fact, I was looking so ugly that people at the airport did not recognise me!"
Speaking about her experience, Munisha says, "I saw one man flipping through a newspaper that had my picture. He looked at the picture and he looked at me and remarked that I look like that girl, only she is much prettier. Even when I got on the plane, a fellow passenger remarked that I look like the girl from Vaidehi, but she is more glamourous." So, did the fact that she wasn't recognised bother her? "No, I was amused. My brother wanted to tell the passenger that I am the same girl, but I told him not to do so," says Munisha.
Munisha adds that she has now realised that people expect actors to look good all the time. "I never realised that people expect you to look the way you do on screen," says Munisha. Incidentally, the actor was planning to go bald in Tirupati. "I wanted to go bald. But my brother told me not to do so. So I chopped of a chunk of my hair there. If I had done that no one would've recognised me here!" she says.
Speaking about her villainous character in Vaidehi, Munisha says, "I love being bitchy on screen. It's fun to do things that you will never do in real life."
