Rashmi Sharma Productions' mature love story on Colors has got its leads!! And as reported in media, talented actress Debina Bonnerjee will not be playing the female protagonist on the show.

Muskaan Nancy James of Mata Ki Chowki fame has been finalized to play the lead role, that of a mother to grown-up kids. And to play the guy opposite her, the maker and channel have roped in Ajay Chaudhary in this mature love story.

A reliable source states, "Since the plot of the show will juggle between the past and present, depicting the college life of the girl who will fall in love, and will at the same time focus on the present, where she is a mother to grown-up daughters, the channel and maker wanted an actress who would be able to manage both the roles elegantly. Muskaan fit the bill perfectly."

We hear that both Ajay and Muskaan have signed their contracts and were supposed to start shoot soon. However, there is a new twist to the tale.

As per news coming in, Muskaan is suddenly caught up with few family issues that require her to act like the son in the family' and be with her family in this need of crisis. Hence, the actress is now a doubtful starter to the show, is what we get to understand. It is believed that Muskaan has intimated the same to the channel and production house, and has excused herself from the daily serial.

But another fact that we have got to know is that the Rashmi Sharma show will take a longer time to launch. The next fiction launch on Colors will be the big-budget show Ashoka (Contiloe Telefilms) which will take the one hour slot, which will be made vacant after the culmination of Bigg Boss in February 2015. So the decision to launch the Rashmi Sharma show will not be taken anytime before February.

Confirming this, another close source tells us, "Since the Rashmi Sharma show will take its own sweet time to launch, there is every possibility of Muskaan being retained in the show as the lead, since she needs only two months to sort out her family issues. Having said this, the probability of her replacement is high at the moment."

When contacted, Muskaan did tell us, "Well, I cannot take up a daily show at the moment, as I am stuck with a family issue. This is all that I can say. Family is priority right now. Sorry, I will not be able to talk more about it at the moment."

Ajay however was unavailable for comment.

We also dropped a text message to the channel spokesperson, but did not get to hear from them.

The crux of the story remains that Ajay and Muskaan have been finalized as the lead couple for this new Colors show, as of now. However, only time will tell whether they will manage to play the role finally or not.
