I think somehow they forgot that
the audience does not consist of a few
teens living on the la-la land
who believe that love and only love constitute
the society and in a family
no one else matters including your parents, grand parents etc.
sadly enough that is not the case
viewers constitute a far wider audience than these
who value social norms, values, mores and more
importantly discourage making criminals angels...
even after this if the CVs don't see the writing the wall
