hi frnds!! navratra has started from 4th april & its also symbolises the satr of hindu new year. so

happy nvaratras 2 all frnds & forum members!!! may Goddess Durga fulfills all wishes &give her blesseings!!

nine forms of goddess Durga

rava(sooji) kesari(day1)

sago pudding or sabudane ki kheer

makhane aur beej ki mithai

peanut ladoos of khoya

masaledaar aloo aur kuttu ki poori

sabudana vada

sabudane ki khichadi

khuskhus ke aloo, sukhi arbi, navratri raita, kottu ka paratha

carrot cutlet

Thank you dear..it was so nice to see the thread..i do miss all the pujas and the lovely decorations in the temples!...one hardly gets a feel over here..but i always keep a track and do whatever little i can...😊

and happy navratas to all.. are the celbrations the same as navaratri which comes in oct?

yeah but theres a bit change!! these r called chaitr navratr which culminates in Ram navmi while sharad navratr culminates in Durga pooja & dushehra!!

but there r 4 navratras in a year 2 r "prakat" or visible & 2 r "gupt" or hidden!!these above 2 mentioned r "prakat" & during these all stavik poojas r done while in gupt nvaratr pooja is done wid tamsik or wid sum purpose or 4 tantrik kriya(not bad ones) & these gupt navratrs r ashad i.e it cums during rainy season & magha navratr i.e during jan.!! and acc. 2 legends in purana & hindu scriptures chaitr navratras r actual where Goddess Durga was worshipped!!and 1st day of chaitr navratra is celebrated as ugadi or yugadi!!

all these dishes except rava kesari r eaten after fasting(if sum1 has kept fast of whole day widout taking food in the evening or night) & if sum1 wants 2 keep fast & wants 2 take meals at night then they keep wid fruits, milk or dry fruits in the day!!

but u can also see it in Wikipedia!!
