I started watching Uttaran from June 2009 so have very little knowledge as to went on exactly before that but grossly upon trying to catch up the story via youtube videos at intermittent intervals during that period I have realised it's a mockery of poverty.

Good things shown are scantier and short lived like friendliness of rich and poor girl

Self respect probably for Damini

Ichcha educating poor children

Illegal things abundantly and generously promoted on Uttaran to my knowledge are

?Drunken driving by Jogi

Jogi kills Ichcha's dad and hood winks law and been living scott free

Pushkar robbing Jogi of his money .. which was meant to be given to Damini and also while managing ichcha's wedding expenditure

naani stealing Ichca's lottery ticket

Mockery of Poverty by naani

Impersonation of Ichcha by tappu

naani's son bribing some drunken fellow to marry Ichcha

cheating by Tappu in answering questions on miss perfect or what ever competition

tappu Stealing Ichca's engagement dress and jewellery

substance abuse by Vansh

Veer influencing some school official to grant permission to Ichcha's school

This list I'm sure is just a tip of the iceberg

I wonder why people are still watching such a show.

The people responsible for making of Uttaran have left no stone unturned to make a mockery of our national motto satyam-eva Jayate

I fully agree ... to add to the list, this show would promote loads of Tappu in real world. School kids and teenage watching this show would adopt this kind of game-play with their friend and sisters. This serial always shows evil wins and truth sufferes. Nani stole 50lac lottery ticket, nothing happened ... no one even knows including Ichcha. Damini gave 6 lacs insurance money to Jogi Thakur and still working as their servant. Ichcha is only 'my beti' on word .. in reality a servant without salary ... living on Tappu's uttaran ..... real crap. What message this serial is trying to highlight to the society?

No serial on tv today is realistic unfortunately....most are showing alot of evil and hatred!!!!.....and uttaran is no exception!!..infact i think its better than alot of other serials inspite of being unrealistic...infact its quite clear tthrough weekly ratings that its one of the top shows at this point....i dont think the general publis is looking to find reality in any of these serials..or take tips for their own lives..they only watch for entertainment. and pass time..infact more passtime than entertainment!!.and as far as littlle innocent children go i dont think they should be allowed to wach colours or starplus zee etc..there are loads of childrens channels!!!

In today's modern India, many couples are working class or both professionals. Inspite of having a strong urge to stop their children watching such shows, with these channels repeatedly telecasting episodes how on earth can a parent have control over their kids watching TV.

Further till what age group would a child watch only cartoons 9,10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15……

I feel it is high time TV soaps highlighting negativity and spreading immoral values are tagged as a Horror shows or an Adult soaps and telecast only after midnight.

It has become a fashion statement to high light immorality in daily soaps in the name of fiction as these inefficient bunch of people cannot churn out creative stuff.

As long as educated intelligent community members do not take a strong stance on such things people lacking brains will continue creating bull shit in the name of entertainment and make loads of money as well at the expense of killing vulnerable audiences innocence.

to be honest i agree and diagree with this argument............... i agree kids learn a lot from TV no denying , but they try to imitate more of stunts than this idiotic stuff ,. yup this show is full of mess ................ sometimes episodes make sense and sometimes it doesnt ................... god help and i honestly dont know why iam, watching it .\, yet when its tapou iam shifting to karol bagh ................... its parents responsibility to stop kids watching bakwas on tv caz our so called tv chamnnel heads wont do it .................. shows like Antara and jhansiki rani are reallly worth a l\ot

sad that someone thinks that Uttaran is the better serial out of all the crappy serials ...this show is the worst one i have seen... i watched only five episodes and was shocked but then guys all most all of COLORS shows are roti surat and evil wins over good kinda ones and when viewers protest they may show good for few episodes only ..it's a sad reflection of our society today that evil triumps over good and if the TRP ratings are high it;s an even sadder refelction of the people of our nation and the tv channels that feed into this kind of sentiment

I fully agree with your statements.....Uttaran too is promoting such negativity....Tapasya and that other character are getting away even after so many blunders....so cheaply naani took away Iccha's lottery ticket and still got away....Tapasya left iccha in a jungle for the entire night and also made Iccha look like a fool in a dance show and instead of warning her daughter to be careful, Damini tells Iccha that she should be grateful to tapasya and advises her to keep smiling and accept such behaviour!!! Damini frankly has no right to cry now...she's made her daughter a slave like herself! 😡

I always thot that Damini was a really BAD mother ....she has made what Icha is today-- a loser who cannot stand up for even things that are rightfully hers....Damini has only taught Icha to sacrifice and lose ...she has kind of brainwashed her into being meek and let us be clear here---- being good doesnot mean you have to be always losing because if you donot stand up for ur rights who else will..... I have been a close Uttaran watcher-- but seriosly, this serial does show that if u r good , ppl take advantage of u ....if u r giving, then, the taker expects more and more from u.....
