Something better than nothing 0.1 increase.

The slow increase is good, if they can create the hype well the final expose episode can give them the rise they are looking for. And, FaTejo marriage can follow & that will help them get the TRP steady. Marriage track can come after IPL, TRPs eventually will increase for all the shows once IPL is over. Angu ka expose is their bet for now & ofcourse who's Angu's side kick wo bhi hain. Jasmine as a villain sales, her positivity definitely affected the TRP.

There's a lot of talk about IPL affecting UD's TRP. I don't think that's a factor since IPL starts only after UD's air time.

IPL matches start at 7:30. UD slot may be 7:00 but it airs late. No proper timing. Kabhi 7:08 and kabhi 7:10. The episode ends somewhere around 7:40. And for trp to count even advertisements count. So basically if metered tv is on btw 7:00 and 7:30 then trp counts for UD. But since most people know it starts late tho that does affect trp. So partial time slot partial ipl and then ofcourse the bad track they were running is affecting UD. ipl affects other shows too but UD has added factors that are also affecting.

IPL match starts @7.30 but toss happens @7 pm. Another factor is timings. None of the Colors show start in time. UD is suppose to start @7.00 pm but it never starts in time. It starts somewhere around 7.06 pm to 7.10 pm so it ends around 7.40 pm, which is 10 mins after IPL match starts. For TRP to have full effect you need to watch the show from start to end even ad breaks are counted. Also Colors don't have the reach like Star Plus. The penetration in the market is pretty low.

OK I said this because I watch both in the sense I start watching IPL 10 minutes after its start and I guess there might be many like me plus I wonder how many men watch UD and I presume more men than women follow IPL keenly. I know this sounds very gender biased but just guessing lol.

As gendered as this statement is, you're not wrong BUT most Indian fams have one TV and generally if the man wants to watch something, then it's that.

BTW I just realized my mom is obsessed with udaariyaan. Like we were getting ready for a wedding, so much stuff going on, and she wanted to schedule her parlor appointment in a way that she's able to watch it

Also, we make mistake of comparing apple with oranges and then with bananas. Every slot has its USP's, audience and combined TVR/TRP along with averages.

UD is competing at 7.00 pm slot so comparing it with TVR or TRP of let say 9.00 pm slot or 9.30 pm slot will be unfair cause those are prime time slot.

For 7.00 pm slot - Average TRP before IPL was 1.23 TRP with a total opportunity of 3.7 TRP but after IPL it has reduced to 0.97 TRP with a total opportunity of 2.9 TRP

For 9.00 pm slot - Average TRP before IPL was 1.83 TRP with a total opportunity of 5.5 TRP but after IPL it has reduced to 1.33 TRP with a total opportunity of 4.0 TRP

For 9.30 pm slot - Average TRP before IPL was 1.9 TRP with a total opportunity of 5.7 TRP but after IPL it has reduced to 1.4 TRP with a total opportunity of 4.2 TRP

For 10.00 pm slot - Average TRP before IPL was 1.733 TRP with a total opportunity of 5.2 TRP but after IPL it has reduced to 1.36 TRP with a total opportunity of 4.1 TRP

UD is doing much better for its slot though compared to its own potential and past record it is falling short of expectation.

Also those people who compare past high TRP's has to look into the covid situation and circumstances in India. We were in lock down for most part of last year, people were WFH and no social activity like clubbing, shopping in malls, going out for movies. Since Jan-Feb everything is open, people started with offices & back to their social activities. Not only UD ratings has gone down but also other top rated shows which were garnering more than 4 TRP last year had come down around 3+.

But most of them doesn't think she is positive😆
