The Village Hero is actually Zero???? Chagan

The village Hero who rose ferocious during the dastardly act, who spoke about the cruelty done on Chakor, who raised his voice against the atrocity, who said if we keep quiet today our sisters, mothers all will be put through such atrocity.

Chagan who was hailed as the Hero is actually a Zero???

Point to ponder??? The last few episodes have been preachy true. But we have to accept the harsh fact that the makers are taking a huge risk in dealing with an otherwise sensitive but a forgotten subject... Maansik Bandhuva...The invisible chains... the psychological chains the society binds or one binds oneself around even without realising it.. the line of demarcation is hairline and very difficult to deal...

Right from the beginning of the 10 year leap Chagan had been shown as a literate person who has infact supported Chakor when she took so may bold steps, when she went against bandhuva, staked her life for the village (during the bomb blast), staked her marriage for the village children... Staked her childhood just to run so that she brings fame and through that bring protection to her fellowmen...Yes he was there...but he was there for the society as a whole, he was not in the shoes but he saw chakor wearing that shoes, but when he is asked to step into the shoes, he realise the shoe bites...

So where is that Chagan, The Chagan now I see is so narrowminded, considers his wife, whom he loved, who had risked her life to save him though she could have escaped during the horrible wedding as no less than a caretaker, to take care of him and his old parents...who does not want his wife to go behind her dreams, appreciate her art, support her, who says that he does not like her to work and also says the worst that she does not respect him... Is this love for his wife... well I am also disgusted, shocked with a heavy heart that he is no more the Hero but a Zero... But soon he will realise that shoe bite. The makers has made the best choice of him in this track as I can relate it, infact he has himself bonded that chains around him, those thoughts has been imbibed in him by the society... He has to break that to realise and then break the shallowness in his mind to allow Gauri to fly high...

We all are bit irritated that the last few episodes have been preachy but this though slavery has to be realised and to realise it should be spoken often and that's what is being done now, to bring in that thought into the viewers mind.

The best example... we have children at home a boy and a girl with a difference of say just two years of age inspite of who ever is being elder, the elders always will ask the girl to give water to the boy when he is thirsty and never he is told to give his sister the water... So here starts the psychological binding... Nobody actually preaches but the girl feels it is her duty to serve the brother while the brother feels that it is his right and the women has to do such jobs... Both are slaved to their respective thoughts... And this is what is now being dealt. I really applaud the makers...

Good choice of Chagan... A literate though, is bound in the shackles of age old norms... and breaking this shackle is not an easy task at all.. Kudos to the makers and I hope they bring the drama of Imli for the necessary twist...

So Chagan please come out of the shackles to soon walk shoulder to shoulder with Gauri as the Hero... but... for if you remain as Zero you will have no value unless you stand beside 1 and that No.1 will be Gauri for sure as she is all set to sour high.

Just my thought about the current track, kindly share your views

A very powerful post Sumi. Loved it
I actually like the contrast they are portraying between Chagan and Suraj. Having said that yes Chagan has been a disappointment post leap. He had fought hard to be with Gauri and now after marrying her treats her as a mere objects. He expects her to follow him.blindly and have no life of her own. Respecting a woman just doesn't mean saving her from physical humiliation but it means respecting her emotions too. I don't like Chagan treat Gauri poorly in front of others. He has done it twice already.

I am still thankful to Chagan for saving Chakor during the Cheerhan and he indeed was the hero there but he needs to raise as a husband and prove to be Gauri hero too.

Off topic I liked that Gauri Chagan are mama mami to sanvi. Hope we get to see Chakor tie rakhi on Chagan in future. Chakor never had a brother.

CVs has this basic inclination to negativity so they change the behaviour of characters at a drop of a hat.
Chagan was hero last track but now become a pessimistic and narrow minded husband who can't see through his ego and preconceived notions of society.

thanks Bini for your views

Thats what I am trying to explain am not sure if I was able to get that point, when he was as a spectator he was supporting Chakor and Paakhi too as he was not burning his fingers actually, Chakor had to undergo so much of physical and mental harrasment by KN in saving her fellowmen... But when he feels that just showcasing Gauri's talent he feels threatened... so he feels that his shoe may bite!!!

actually yes the change of the core characters sometimes does not augur well down the throat...

lets see

Interesting and thought provoking post Sumi.
True, Chagan is a disappointment. It's disappointment how he doesn't acknowledge that his wife can have her own dreams and that's he's belittling her talent and hard work. What's even worse is how he treats her in front of others.
Sadly, that's the reality, you can have a person who can be a model citizen in one aspect but still have major character flaws. You can be a respected political figure fighting for people's right and treat your wife and children badly or cheat on your wife.

I think many people are trapped in what society and culture tells them is acceptable and Chagan has never rebelled against the norms of his society: a woman's honor is important but her voice and opinion aren't. A truly courageous person will be someone who goes against what he's been told all his life, so in some ways Bhuvan is braver than Chagan.

More than his attitude to Gauri working, it's the way he treats her in front of Sukor that's disappointing. You can believe that your wife shouldn't work and force her to follow your words without disrespecting her in front of others.

Chagan is a decent guy but old fashioned, maybe he was never the hero we thought him to be.

Yes the village hero has indeed turned out to be a zero...
But it's a little difficult for me to digest the way his character has suddenly been portrayed sumi...I mean I agree to what you have said that till now nothing was so directly connected to him so maybe it was easier for him to fight but now that it concerns his wife, his true attitude is coming to the fore...still somehow I am not convinced ... suddenly very backward and very rural he seems... Which he was not... Atleast they should have shown some shades in him before...so frankly their point of proving mansik Bandhua Giri through chagan has not gone down well with me..

They could have chosen somebody else
Suddenly Everybody so backward seems a little too illogical...So apart from the fact that they have chosen a wonderful topic which haunts the society, at times the episodes are getting on my nerves.

Bravo girl...dats one strong post..👏 u said it dear...when it came to step in our chakor's shoes ...dis guy is scared of shoe bite..double faced and shallow minded people like chagan do exist in real life too...a guylike him is scared bcos if his wife gets wings and she starts flying then he won't be considered as D ALPHA MALE...he won't get his due respect...bcos women ...dey r just caretakers ...baby making machines...dey shouldn't dream...dey r not supposed to make their destinies...dat ...dis...WHY?????? R women not humans????why is dat always women discriminated ???? A girl with an amazing IQ is married off at d age of 18 and her brothers r engineers and MBA HOLDERS working abroad...i have witnessed dis ...her wud be husband and family was asking dat wat is d need of a certificate ,if all u have to do is household chores and take care of ur family ... for a woman her family makes her destiny and she is left with no other choice dan to obey...d latest track of our Udaan has a lot of potential bcos "MAANSIK BANDHUAGIRI " do exist. .some people like gauri , pakhi...is able to overcome dis with d help of Sukor...but der r a lot of unlucky people out der who r subjected to worse in real life ...its true we live in d 21st century ...modern thinking and views...but there exist certain norms in our society which can put us to shame... SORRY DEAR...I BECAME A LITTLE UPSET..and dis is one touchy subject...COME WAT MAY "PROUD TO B A WOMAN"we r d loveliest, strongest , toughest...dont u agree gal...🤗

@ Mai
thanks for those valuable thoughts and very true that most of the people are two faced and you rightly said yes respect your wife in front of others that is more important, he could have shared his rejection in private... yeah harsh reality and as you rightly said we apparently hailed the wrong person...

@ Pooja thanks dear

@ Nikki

Thanks deary respect your views

Atleast they should have shown some shades in him before...so frankly their point of proving mansik Bandhua Giri through chagan has not gone down well with me with me either but

ok I respect... but if you turn around and give a thought dont you think it has indeed brought out the anger in you infact in all of us as we would not have taken it so serious if it was any other bastiwala as we know they are illiterate and nothing unusual just because it is Chagan, it is shocking and furious and about showing shades... we know the makers turn anyone negative at the drop of the hat... so yeah I am not selling my point but just a point to ponder!!! thanks for those valued perception

@ Viji

thanks loved loved your true rage at the inequality which is so evident anywhere in the globe. thanks for sharing you view...

COME WAT MAY "PROUD TO B A WOMAN"we r d loveliest, strongest , toughest...dont u agree gal

Yes sumi absolutely agree that because they are showing somebody like chagan doing it, it will have more impact on the audience than if they would have shown any other illiterate villager doing it... But still yaar... Somehow when they suddenly take some illogical step like this na, the only problem is I don't enjoy it whole heartedly...(.I watch the episode with the thought niggling that this seems a little illogical...For. e.g. when educated, urban police inspector RV suddenly talks and walks the azadganj way or uneducated illiterate imli suddenly know driving, knows which medicine to inject so that the person slips in to coma, etc...guwaff !!)
So that is why I said it didn't go down well with me... Yet to get that grip...Bas... But hopefully as the story progresses, one tends to forget all this !
