A proper explaination on what actually happened to him during the 5 years, would have done some damage control on what they showed last week.

They still can do it, if they show it now. But if they decide to give simple memory loss reason then it will be poor writing.

With lead characters, the writers should be extra careful

Sumi they have messed up big time i know but sometimes its possible to bring in a positive twist explaining a characters situation. It can work in favour of the story. The drugged and tortured part never happened, which was mentioned in one of the articles, so i always thought they would cover it now.
