Maybe because he couldn't escape from Chakor even in jail.

I hope he uses the couple of hours he spends in jail to question his blind obedience to Hyar and to understand that only evil people make Chakor their enemy.

This may also be his reaction to Chakor's words, we know she'll visit him there.
