Thank you so much for clarifying this.
So, he didn't lie to Paki when he said that he had no girlfriends. The girls were after him trying to take advantage of him when he was drunk. This somehow explains his shyness as well because people who are under such ''assault" tend to close themselves inside. The fact that he knew that those girls were after his money only made the matters worse and aggravated his old insecurities as he thought that he attracted only this type of girls.
Yes, the dance was distasteful, but the fact that Suraj had nothing to do with these girls reduces somehow the damage. He could have had many girlfriends, but he didn't. I'll give him credit for this. Others in his position would have used those girls for their own benefits.
The CV keeps insisting on the fact that Suraj doesn't know what he is doing when he is drunk, maybe they will solve Imli problem at some point. Why Imli wouldn't want to do what the other girls did? She was not far away from their behavior back in those days... Then, she tried to blackmail with the child... The stories are too similar. That will explain why he didn't believe her as he had experienced such things in college.
They have to solve Imli thing because even if Suraj and Chakor get back together her insecurities still remain and the CV insisted too much on them to just throw them under the carpet.
