Thanks for the news...

I feel really bad for SM...

But I think she is over-reacting a bit...these things aren't uncommon in this industry...sometimes they are done intentionally to boost the hype and fan craze...

Really its only the first twelve chapters....only 1/5 of her book...its unfortunate that this happened but she should not punish her fans for the wrong doings of one individual...she should have been more careful herself....

I sincerely hope she would reconsider her decision...the fans would only be wanting more after reading it....it can only help her business wise....

Please SM reconsider?

Hmm.. I feel really bad for her and I agree with the person above me. She is overreacting a little. I mean when you made a comittment then you have to honour it no matter what happens?

It happens to a lot of authors, but they never STOP WRITING. A true writer wouldn't do that right?

I just hope SM continues writing! :(

i'm soooooooooooooo annoyed after hearing this info since i'd read the beg. of Midnight Sun online and was really into Edward's POV and really really wanted to read that novel💔 😭😔

hmmm.....i just had a really crazy idea.....what if someone....not me....i suck at writing😆.....wrote an FF in Edwards POV.....i don't know if that's possible or not😕

I think she is over reacting...She should have known that leaks can very much happen now that her books are famous... Even the 6th harry potter book was leaked but that did not stop JKR from publishing the book...

And isn't it a bit unprofessional on her part too? She should think about her fans,the publishing house etc.

You all don't think she is avoiding writing midnight sun because of the crappy reception breaking dawn got do you?

While I can understand where she's coming from, I think it's a LOT more than a little unprofessionalism on her part. It's being a petulant child and emotionally manipulative. She's at fault, not the person who leaked it - anyone who got their hands on this would have leaked it. This manuscript was worth millions; Did she really think anyone would leave it alone? She should've been much more careful and even if despite all cautions, it did happen, she should've owned up to her error in judgement - Every writer knows you're supposed to keep every copy of the manuscript under heavy scrutiny. Instead, she blames the fans for reading something made available to them over the internet and then takes the punitive stance. Seriously, "too sad to go on"? What type of author does that?🤢 I swear, Meyer's making me appreciate Rowling a lot more.

I'm more inclined to think she's avoiding writing MS as some kind of childish payback for people not liking Breaking Dawn. 😕

^ I don't quite understand why you're comparing Stephenie to JK Rowling... both are completely different authors with completely different series. Why compare them?

And I won't put the blame on Stephenie here; in fact, it's hard to say WHO to put the blame on. Whoever had one of the manuscripts leaked it, and it's very unfortunate, and I can see why she is upset... because those 264 pages would have taken a long time, and for not even half of her book to be leaked out, for her fans to have read so much already, would take away a lot of reading when or if the actual Midnight Sun comes out... so I do understand her pain here. I think she was careful and like she said, only distributed the manuscripts to those who she trusted, and unfortunately, it was leaked.

I know this happens to almost every author, it's inevitable that things are leaked onto the Internet before release... for so many books, it's happened, and it's happened for the Twilight series as well. I think she's more upset because Midnight Sun wasnt even finished and so much of it was passed onto the internet. But I also feel that every author should know this... that there is always a chance of their book, no matter how they try to keep it secured, being leaked before it should be. I think she's just really upset right now, but I do hope that she re-considers and starts writing it again... I saved the draft from her website and just skimmed some if it; I know if I start reading, I won't be able to stop... and I saw the ending, and I wont say anything but it really makes you want to read more to see how the rest correllates with Twilight!

I hope she finishes Midnight Sun... her fans are with her! I was really shocked when I saw this news, and hope things will get better...!
