Tumhari Disha's DK celebrated his birthday in London this year. Ashish Nayyar, who plays the character, got an opportunity to travel to England and meet his fans at a carnival arranged by Zee.

Warm welcome

Describing the trip, Ashish said, "I had an amazing time and this will go down as one of my best birthday celebrations. I had no idea that DK and Tumhari Disha have such a major following in that country.

Most of my time in Olympia (where the carnival was held) was spent meeting fans and signing autographs. The hospitality of the people was just beyond belief."

Ashish Nayyar all covered up to go to Oxford

Nayyar was especially touched when a female fan, Maya, flew all the way from Norway to meet him.

"She specially came down just to wish me on my birthday. I didn't think anyone would travel so far to meet me. I think she just made me feel great on that day."

Apart from catching up with Disha fans, the actor also got a chance to do a bit of sightseeing. "The temperature in London was – 3C, so I had to cover myself up and move around."

The actor visited Madame Tussaud's wax museum and London Bridge, travelled to Oxford and watched a show of Mel Brooks's play, Producers.
