Hello all. I know I must update my FF, but this story had been running in my mind for a long time ever since Nisha asked for a simple story on AjNa. As I am a little busy, the chapters are short. Kindly bear with me and ignore the mistakes.

TS: And At Last I See the Light
Chapter 1
All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Sanjana didn't have a clue as to why she had come to this stupid masquerade party without a partner. She wished Ajay was with her but he had told her that he hadn't found his dream girl yet and he won't go to parties without her. Somehow, she was very jealous of his so called non-existent dream girl that she always stopped arguing with him whenever he brought that topic up. She sighed a little and wished she had convinced him to come. She felt lonely in the big crowd of dancing people. She didn't want to dance so she moved to a secluded corner hoping to go unnoticed but someone else was already there.
Ajay stood at a dark corner feeling extremely bored. He should have accepted Sanjana's offer and come with her as her partner. But, he had not at all wanted to come. He had tried persuading her not to go but she had been stubborn. He had even tried using his favorite threat since childhood-his dream girl, but that had only made her walk away in a huff even more determined to attend the party. Finally, left with no other choice, he had followed her to the party. No other choice, eh?' his mind questioned. He really had had a thousand excuses to not come to the party but how could he not come when his best friend ever since childhood was going alone? He had to protect her from others, right? So, here he was standing in a corner and looking for her but it was difficult to identify anyone because of the masks. He cursed himself for not asking her what she was wearing to the party. Suddenly, he felt someone collide with him.
Now I'm here blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here suddenly I see
Standing here it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be
"Ouch"
"I am sorry"
"I am sorry too... uh... why are you not dancing?"
"Well... I didn't bring any partner."
"Me too... Isn't it strange?"
"Yes... But why didn't you bring a partner?"
"Let's just say that I haven't met my Prince Charming yet..."
"But you look so beautiful... "
"Ha Ha... You haven't seen my face yet..."
"I don't need to see a face to tell how beautiful a girl is."
"I guess many boys do need a face."
Ajay looked at her. Her voice seemed strangely familiar. Somewhere deep inside he knew that this was the dream girl he had been waiting for because ever since she had come, he was feeling cheerful and less lonely. He wished Sanjana was here so that he could introduce her to this girl. Maybe, then she would know that he never joked about his dream girl.
"So... Why are you alone?"
"Just the same reason as yours... I haven't met her yet..."
"Oh... I see..."
"Well, since we have no partners... Is it okay if we enjoy this party as a couple? Don't say no... Please... I know you are bored too."
Sanjana was generally very shy and hated to talk to strangers, but she felt a strange pull towards this well-built stranger. And talking to him made her feel very warm and comfortable so she nodded her head slowly. He smiled at her and held out his arm as the music changed.
"So... Can I have this dance?"
