I think there's a specific reason why anything pertaining to Sarthak is being ignored until he makes an on-screen appearance again... there's some big revelation related to him,I feel, otherwise they wouldn't be so careful as to avoid mentioning his name.... and he wouldn't stay normally away from his nephew knowing he's battling depression after losing both his wife and son.

The only explanation is that he has bigger problems of his own, so either he's been ill himself after that attack by Trilok or Anusar really had a kid who was born with some kind of disability.... what if Sarthak left Anu without much fight because he knew AS wouldn't let their baby live as payback for Nal's loss? And he may be faking being ill or depressed or something and be somewhere taking care of his kid.
