"Aai... aai... aai... ye dekho ye ka hai. Kalyani excitedly grabbed Anupriya by her upper arms and began to twirl. "Kalyani Kalyani bas karo mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain. Anupriya did not understand as to why Kalyani was so excited. She locked arms with her mother and proceeded towards the canteen. "Ye dekho aai Kalayni put a flyer in front of her mother. "Ye kya hai? Anupriya confusedly looked at her daughter. "Aai college mein fresher's party hai. "Phresher's party woh kya hota hai? Aur college mein party kyun? Kuch na kuch naya pata chal raha hai mujhe college ki zindagi ke baare mein. Kalyani smiled at her innocent mother. "Phreshers nahi aai freshers. Aai dekho jab koi naya humaare ghar ya gaon mein aata hai tab uska swagat karte hain uska aage ka safar accha rahe iske liye wish karte hain waise hi hum iss college mein naye aaye hain toh hum sab naye students ke liye ye party hai. Socho aai tum aur main party mein kitna maza aayega. "Party aur main? Nako re baba main kabhi party mein nahi gayi. Aao sahib kya kahengi, wo mujhe parwangi nahi dengi. Anupriya began to fidget with her pallu nervously. "Aai main hoon na... chill. Ab sun. Anupriya smiled as she listened to her daughter's non-stop bak bak about the party plans.

"Kalyani ek minute Anupriya interrupted Kalyani. " kya kaha tumne dress code matlab kapde kaise hone chahiye hai na? Kalyani nodded. Aai koi bahana nahi. Kalyani was determined to attend the party especially as she wanted Anupriya to experience everything she had missed out on in life.

Malhar returned home much later than usual. Moksh was soundly asleep in his crib. He softly pecked the little angel on the forehead and went to change for the night. Everything in their room was in its place only Kalyani was missing. After changing he began a search operation for his wife and found her in the kitchen heating his dinner. "Kalyani main kar leta tum kyun jag rahi ho. "Assignment kar rahi thi aur aapko itna late kyun ho gaya aaj. Pata hai main intezaar kar rahi thi. "Mere liye jagi thi tum? Malhar's question made her fluster which made him smile and he followed her to the dining table. "Na nahi wo main aapke liye nahi bola na assignment kar rahi thi. Kalyani unknowingly had started to behave more like a wif. She waited for him to return home, she checked her phone many times a day Inhe meri yaad nahi aati kya? Mere liye na sahi Pillu ke liye hi phone kar de.' She used to think sometimes she thought of sending his lunch or calling to just ask if he ate something or not. Malhar too had noticed some changes in her but was not aware of the changes in him. He used to want her to call him up and ask kahan ho, kaise ho, kab aaoge or just give a miss call and then make an excuse galti se lag gaya' They were Moksh's parents from day 1 but slowly were taking baby steps towards each other.

Kalyani sweetly sat by his side while he had his dinner and served him before he asked for. "Kuch hua hai? "Nahi. "Kuch kiya hai? "Nahi. "Kuch chahiye? "Nahi. "Kuch kehna hai? "Haan na nahi. Kuch nahi kuch bhi nahi aap dinner kijiye. Malhar understood that Kalyani wanted to say something but was unable to. Kalyani cleared the table but hesitated to go to the room where Malhar was waiting for her to come so he could get her to tell him what she wanted to. "Kalyani tu kitni stupid hai! Kya ho jata hai tujhe Malharji ke saamne. Pehle ki baat aur thi unke gusse se darr lagta tha par ab kya. Itne time se in fact unn do idiots ke aane ke baad toh unka atom bomb roop kam dikhta hai toh ab kya ho jaata hai tujhe. Jab wo tere saamne aate hain kyun teri saans ukhadne lagti hai? Suddenly her face lit up. "Ek garam chai ki pyali hai usko Malhar ji ko pilane wali bhi hai. She made tea for Malhar while merrily singing.

Malhar knew she wanted to speak with him and thus this special treatment, it was not that she did it only when she wanted something she had often given him this treatment but he noticed something different tonight. "Aapne maangi nahi par maine socha ki shayad aapko zaroorat ho... "Kya baat hai aaj meri zarooraton ka kuch zyada khyal nahi rakh rahi tum? "Aap toh aise bol rahen hain jaise maine kabhi aapka khayal hi nahi rakha. Aapki uniform, ghar ke aur bahar ke kapde, aapki accessories, aapke files, aapke shoes, aapke socks, aapka rumaal, aapke... you know what har cheez ka khayal rakhti hoon. Humaare Moksh ka aur uska bhi jiska khayal aapko rakhna chahiye aapki patni ka uska khayal bhi main rakhti hoon. Bol toh aise rahen hain jaise main khayal hi nahi rakhti. Theek hai nahi rakhti na toh kal se sab khud karna kal se kyun abhi se ye chai nahi milegi. Kalyani angrily tried to pick up the cup. He grabbed her by the wrist "Rehne do ab tumne banayi hai toh pee leta hoon. "Ehsaan karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. "Ehsaan main nahi tum kar rahi ho. Please let it be I need it. Malhar gave her one more chance. "Nahi. She squeaked. "Agar kuch aur kehna ya karna nahi hai toh so jao. BED par. He added as he saw her making her bed on the floor. Kalyani's back was towards Malhar so he could not see her expressions but saw the bed sheet fall from her hands. "Aur aap? She asked nervously without looking at him. "Mujhe kaam hai main raat bhar sone nahi wala. "Malhar ji aapke seniors na criminals se bhi bure hain. Kitna kaam karwate hain aapse? Aap itna late aaye hain aur bina rest kiye phir kaam. Kalyani was angry at her husband's seniors for over working him. She did not want him to fall ill because of working so much. "Kalyani meri duty hai tum meri fikar mat karo aur so jao. "Malhar ji aap thodi der ke liye araam kar lijiye I promise main aapko 30 minutes mein jaga doongi. Malhar smacked the file on the table just to get her to listen to him and sleep comfortably on the bed. "Kalyani last time bol raha hoon so jaao. Mere teen ginne tak tum bed par nahi hui toh main offer wapas le loonga aur tumhe neeche sona padega. E. Before he could finish counting one she was in bed under the blanket. "Good night. She wished him. Malhar switched off the lights only his study lamp on. Kalyani peeked from under the blanket and fell asleep admiring his strong back.

Nowadays Kalyani was the first to wake up. She found Malhar sleeping next to her then smiled on seeing the three cushion wall between them. TV serial hai kya? Cushion wall? Malharji bhi na kuch zyada hi shareef hain.' She got off the bed and began her daily routine. Before leaving for the college she used to get Malhar's uniform and other things ready. Pillu's clothes for the day were decided by her and she also gave him his first feed. She used to leave a detailed to do list for Aparna where Pillu was concerned. "Kalyani cha... A hot cup of tea was in front of him before he could ask for it. Malhar loved the tea she made as it tasted just like Anupriya's tea. She had learned how to make tea from Anupriya so that Malhar could continue having Anupriya's tea which was his favorite. "Aaho Slipped out of her mouth in effort of being extra cute. Malhar accidently took a bigger sip of the hot tea on hearing Aaho' instead of Malhar ji' for the first time ending up with a burning sensation on his tongue. Kalyani saw him flinch lowered her mouth to his level and began blowing to ease his pain. Their eyes met and engaged in an intense eye lock. Her nails dug in his strong shoulder muscles as something stirred inside her. Their closeness had begun to shake him up too.

"KALYANI! Their eye-lock broke as soon as they heard Aparna bark Mrs. Rane's name. "Jab maine kaha naashta banane mein madad karo ko tumne kaha ki college jaane mein der ho rahi hai. Ab der nahi ho rahi ki yahan time pass kar rahi ho. Malhar did not like the way Aparna treated Kalyani he never had but now he had begun hating it. "Atya, aapko koi kaam tha? Malhar had begun addressing Aparna as atya' for over a month now. "Malhar wo main Moksh ko lene aayi thi. Dekho na main sab kaam karti hoon par Kalyani... Malhar shut her down before she could finish bad mouthing his wife. "Moksh ko main police station dete waqt aapko de jaaoinga. Mujhe tayyar hona hai aap please jaaiye. Aparna made after making a face. Kalyani kissed Moksh and bid good bye to him. She heavy heartedly picked up her bag and got ready to leave for the college. "Suno, aaj shaam ko main jaldi aa jaaoonga. Tum jo kehna chahti ho wo kehne ke liye tayyar rehna kyunki main sunne ke lie tayyar hoon. He whispered in her ear. His breath made the skin on her neck tingle. Kalyani nodded and left. All day at the college she prepared herself to speak with Malhar. Tick-tock, tick-tock time passed as Kalyani at home waiting for Malhar to return.
