I didn't contradict myself at all dear... I was a die hard of AMITABH and know each and every scene of his movies...You people knwo half the story and that too the first half...A little knowledge is a dangerous thing...
Coming to the film Silsila,
Shashi Kapoor was Amitabh Bachchan's elder brother and was a pilot, shashi's love was Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh's Rekha. Shashi died when Jaya was a pregnant but still single and Amitabh volunteered to marry Jaya and then cut off all links with Rekha. Rekha then marries Sanjeev Kumar, a doctor, who happens to treat Amitabh-Jaya after they have an accident some years later. This brings Amitabh-Rekha again close, the ran away from home and from their spouses, their spouses could figure out that they were still in love. When they elope, there were certain circumstances which made them think of the society and eventually Amitabh and Rekha comes to know through a phone call from Jaya that the flight in which Sanjeev Kumar was travelling has crashed. This is when Amitabh goes to save Sanjeev Kumar and ultimately they both figure out that their true love lies in their spouses and that they were just not coming out of their past...This is one of the finest movies of Yash Chopra and the music by Shiv-Hari still has no comparison. This story is also said to have links with the possible relationship of Amitabh and Rekha in their real life and Jaya Bachchan made a comeback through this film just for once.
I was trying to point out to this crash of Sanjeev Kumar, and not the crash of Shashi Kapoor, whom you people are pointing out.
Hope this helps
