The D-day finally arrived.
Last episode, we saw Saras escorting a bejewelled Kanak to the mandap, but we also did see a glimpse of how Kanak tried to move past the pillar unnoticed.
We see "Kanak" approaching the mandap, taking part in the rituals, responding in Kanak's voice, taking the pheras, etc. but of course we know it isn't Kanak, given how the ghunghat happened to cover half her body.😆😆😆 Yaar Kanak itni bhi sanskaari nai hai ;)
It was Adi, our beloved Devil dressed in bridal attire and doing the honours 😃. This has to be the funniest wedding scene ever in the history of all cinematic weddings. A man is so perfectly dressed as a bride and pretending to be "the bride that no one, absolutely no one catches him in the act. The only giveaway should have been the stiff body language and the absolute silence/lack of reaction when the investigation team strolled in to arrest Kanak.
Had it really been Kanak, she would have taken the ghunghat off her face, and reacted shocked, puzzled. Fools both Meera and Akshay are. They probably thought they hit jackpot when the wedding rituals started off. Little did they know Uma outsmarted both of them, and not just that, Kanak used her instincts at the right moment and chose to stay back and survey the whole situation than jump in and marry the ass****
On the 6th phera, the investigation team strode in, announcing they're here to arrest Kanak Rathi for taking bribe and fraudulently allowing K & U to over-reach the governmental deal, by approving their fairness cream. Naturally, Meera and Akshay didn't lose a second to start grinning, thinking Kanak was just minutes away from total destruction. I think that's when Uma magically materialized at the mandap and boxed Akshay's face (did he just fly in, I'm wondering?). Arpita, Bhabo and the rest of the Rathi family was shocked, not understanding what was transpiring. First, with Uma doing a Superman landing at the mandap after being gayab the whole while, second, the allegations which blew everybody's mind off. Bhabho even castigated the investigating officer, asking him how he dare accuse IPS Sandhya Rathi's daughter of committing such a fraud, considering their background and ethics and all that.
The investigating officer talked of Kanak's signatures that prove she was indeed involved in this deal.
Arpita stepped in and tried to clarify saying this wasn't possible because there was NO talk of a fairness cream being launched as part of this health initiative. When arguments got heated up, Uma's name got dragged too, with the suggestion that he too orchestrated this "deal. That's when Meera interjected to clear Uma's name from the muck. Said he had no idea of Kanak's fraudulent conduct, in fact she too was surprised since this was never originally a plan of the health initiative, and yet she played along and paid the bribe money as well so that she could get Kanak caught red-handed. All throughout, Akshay was trying hard to suppress his glee and pretending he believed in his wife's innocence and will stand by her, no matter what.
Uma butted in and called out Akshay and Meera on their nonsense (He literally used the word "NONSENSE"). He revealed that officers could in no way arrest Kanak, because the signatures on the documents were not Kanak's. They were fake. He had asked Aditya to give Meera the fake laptop, containing fake signatures. So while Kanak was obviously innocent, the duo was in deep trouble for sure, considering they had forged signatures to get an unconscionable deal approved. I think he then implored her to speak, and so did the others. Arpita, Bhabho and everybody else in the Rathi family was imploring Kanak to speak up and tell the truth.
Meera's face had turned whiter than chalk. Akshay's face held no more of the glee earlier writ on his face. He was kinda shitting his pants.
Uma turned to Kanak (Adi actually) and told her, "ab toh vishwas hua na tumhen ki main tumse 5 minute kyun maang raha tha. Main tumhen yehi batana chah raha tha ki Meera aur Akshay milke tumhen fasana chahte hain."
Kanak's voice rang out in the air "Haan Uma, mujhe vishwas hua."
EVERYBODY WAS SHOCKED NOW.
What the hell was happening? Meera and Akshay looked like they'd just seen a ghost when Kanak walked toward the mandap. Uma was shocked, so was Akshay. If Kanak was standing in front of everybody here, who the hell was the "woman dressed as Kanak, taking the pheras?
Kanak confronted Akshay, told him, "Pehle main shaadi ka gift toh de dun tumhen" and slapped him hard across the face, and then goaded him to see who was the under the bride's veil.
Adi then, like a sneaky cat, merrily takes off the mile-length ghunghat off his face, blowing everyone's lid off there. I nearly fell off my chair, laughing.😆
Akshay's reaction - yuck (I mean he as good as MARRIED a man).
Pandit ji's reaction Hey bhagwan, yeh main kya anarth karne jaa raha tha (I wanted to tell him, ab yeh anarth na raha Panditji, duniya ke bahut saare countries mein legal hai 😆😆)
Meera was like mera kutta mujhe Bhow bhow!😆😆😆
Uma asked Adi how he ended up here at the mandap as this was never a part of their plan. Adi then describes how he had tried to convince Kanak to not marry Akshay, but she was adamant and did not believe a word of what he was saying. Kanak then talked about how she changed her mind at the last minute because of the mangalsootra. How she recalled the mangalsootra being Bholenath's sanket even during his impending marriage to Palomi, and how her instincts told her Uma could never lie.
All well and good she berated Akshay for playing with her feelings. I was not sad at all, I mean, come on, you trust this chipmunk you've met barely a week ago and you decide to trust him over EVERY SHRED OF COMMON SENSE?!
But then Akshay tried to play smart and said it was all Meera's mastermind, he was innocent and that he really loved Kanak. Meera was not the one to cave in easily she exposed him beautifully. Told everybody how it was HIS masterplan of marrying Kanak, playing with her feelings, earning her trust and ruining her personally and professionally. How he was the one who goaded her into humiliating Kanak and calling her "Uma's rakhail. How he hated Kanak from the core of his heart because his sister trusted Kanak with her official duties than she did Akshay.
Of course, after this episode, Akshay had nothing to his defense. By now he had totally shat his pants, ab kuch nai ho sakta, he was probably thinking.
Bhabho looked shell-shocked. She was probably thinking, "Yeh bhi kameena nikla!" 😆 For Bhabho, who wanted to only basao Kanak's ghar-parivaar, this was a classic moment of "lutiya doob gayi hamari toh."😆Sorry, I don't want to be rude, but I can't help it- the WHOLE Rathi family was going gaga over that chipmunk ...jisko dekhke hi kameenepan ki khushbu aati thi!
I totally enjoyed Adi's acting today..how he coolly told Meera about his insecurity over being replaced by her new doggy Akshay and how he had decided to "bite her back. Ayush Anand is FANTASTIC. What an actor! What spontaneity, what versatility. So unlike so many other villains, I've seen on TV.
Meera is one shameless creature. Even after getting caught she had the balls to raise her hand and order the officers to not arrest her. Ved, our dear IPS officer, FINALLY opens his mouth and commands the investigating team to arrest BOTH the creeps since there were enough charges to be levied against them.🥱 Chalo, wardi kaam aayi😃
Uma looks relieved, and Kanak cant believe WHY this man who went to the extent of doing all of this for her, chose to leave her behind and marry that witch Meera? We know the reason Ms. Rathi, we're just waiting for the time he will DECIDE to spill the beans.
PRECAP - As mentioned, Kanak asks Uma why he left her stranded two years ago, when he still loves her so much. Uma begins to speak but I'm not sure, does he speak the truth or is he still feeling all the majboori and bandhan and all that? I mean, few days back, he as good as challenged Meera to go tell the truth about Suman, he didn't care. I don't want him to slip back into the label of "majboor sanskaari Uma. I mean, this time, just to protect Kanak, he flung around plenty of sanskaars...which I find are testimony to the amazing growth of his character.
We also see Adi instigating Meera with ideas of Uma-Kanak blossoming in the air, now that she's out of the way. She vows they will never be together. That will never happen.
I'm a bit disappointed. I had started enjoying Adi's bonding with Uma. I mean his villainous dimag paired with Uma's determination and principles is a fascinating combination. Has Adi gone back to being the swine he was and will now wholeheartedly support Meera?
Uma can give him wads of cash too after all, K & U is HIS company. There's really no barrier between Adi and Uma, if you consider the money being spent on him so generously.
So now the question remains Akshay is in jail, Meera is in jail as well. I know for a fact Meera will manage her way out. What then? Will she continue hatching plans to ruin KanUm? And will Adi pair up with her AGAIN to help her reach this mission?
My guess is now she might target Suman, because today we did see a glimpse of Suman crying to herself, thinking she ruined her dadusa's amar prem kahani with Kanak.
I hope not. If anything, I want Adi to fake-pretend being on her side and ruin all her plans. Also, I am sick and tired of Meera, how much longer do we have to endure this pout-lipped witch?
In any case, I hope tomorrow Uma will tell Kanak the DAMN TRUTH. I want to see them ON THE SAME SIDE. Forget marriages and remarriages. They don't need that sanskaari shit to be together. No one can separate them, we've already seen that. How about we see them physically as one team? Fighting the witch and her schemes? Even better, new problems that dont involve obsessed lovers and are somewhat like the ones Suraj-Sandhya fought together?
P.S. I feel like writing a letter to the CVs and asking them to consider keeping Adi the villain he is, but coming on board K & U team😛
And asking them to throw Meera out of this plot. For good. I'm done with this woman.😡😡
