Direct to ranting today!! I didn't want to start the new year by cribbing but please bear my nonsense post. Because in times of celebrations the negativity/bloopers/Logic all come out standing straight as thorns in ones vision. So please my apologies in advances.
It might be ironic that it's a new date, new year, new resolutions all around but the show is same old. And instead of having a sweet simple light episode, everything was left in a limbo. The KanUm interaction of the recent episodes forced to turn a blind eye on a lot of stuff happening randomly.
Let's start with the dresses of Kanak, a lot of posts have been made regarding it yet today that scarf tied up like it's snowing around her neck gave an eerie feeling. What's the purpose of that scarf, it actually pulls down the weird patterned pants all the more. They should fire the costume department for coming up with such pieces, is a shame that with so much effort and energy put inside a show, yet things like costumes are being taken in petty regard.
Can I please start with the police station scene. Massi is super witch, she proved that today with her witch like broom, I wonder if she used that same broom on the writers mind, the show would be a bit more acceptable to the mind that cries in the corner for the crimes of eyes... they have installed a hearing device in Aditya's cell and are listening at the exact same moment. Why ain't there a cctv camera already in the station. Kanak and Ved were waiting for mother son union, why didn't they work on it. Why is everything thrown around so casually.
Kanak and Rani go through Massi's secret stash of cash, hidden carefully behind jars of pickle... Kanak by now should now how spicy pickle Massi is capable of making and she already anticipates a move in the next eight days - she should know the money is for escape, to be on the run. Kanak walks in while Uma has failed in one of his experiments, he is shown working a lot recently because the focus of this track is on a medicine he is supposedly working on for years. Uma watches the leaf change color with excitement, his enthusiasm evident, but as it starts to fail, he is upset as an scientist/researcher would be. It's in that moment Kanak walks in with the bag, he snaps at her got disturbing him while he is working - Kanak is hurt she back off in an instant by his harsh comment. Uma realizes his mistake, he lost control in a second and snapped at her, it's that he realizes his mistake becomes his savior. - it's a lesson that how control is important over the tongue, words cut deeper than swords. That moment of anger overpowers everything else... it's human nature to lose control but not to make a habit of it and a petty excuse ready for it. Uma apologizes but Kanak opens her mouth and - there out went the patience (what's with the freaking JEE) they have an awkward jee and sorry session, which I felt sorry to watch.
Kanak shows him the cash stash of Massi and reports to him that Massi has emptied all the accounts - that itself should be a red alert, what kind of wedding is going to happen that would leave the family bankrupt - all the wrong impressions of a wedding, marriage is about two people coming together, two families joining... it shouldn't be how expensive they can get, there is a life after the wedding rituals too, if all savings and FDs are spent on the marriage what is the future, debt ridden to make ends meet. - it would have been wonderful to watch that how a person like Uma who is a minimalist and Kanak who likes the fancy filmy stuff, how they both work together to make a dream wedding which accommodates both of them and their choice.
Uma shuts Kanak down saying that doubt can rot even the strongest of bonds, everything in the radar of doubt can be categorized as wrong - doubt works like an infestation, it affects the rational understanding... while Uma gives great gyan, he himself remains unaware of the consequences of blind trust, his beloved has been raising valid questions one after the other, yet he doesn't even take it in consideration because his trust in Massi has been cemented by ambuja cement over the years, Massi has nurtured the trust in every step, be it the fateful phone conversation or the cliffhanger rescue... he asks Kanak to stop her Sherlockgiri on Massi.
It's actually fun to see Rani on screen after a while, the way she makes herself felt is fresh for a change, a comic person in the drought land of Toshniwal house.
It's this whole idea of betting with friends or foes regarding a certain partner is always a turn off - had it been a guy betting with his friend be this acceptable...
Kanak meets a college friend in the market and there is the OTT drama on the beauty level, that there ain't no boy who can refuse her, she bets with Kanak that she would make Uma buy her jhumkas- it's not that Kanak doesn't trust Uma or anything, but the whole idea as a challenge amongst friend is a bit too much... Kanak who couldn't bear Palomi near Uma has accepted this challenge... all on the basis of beauty queen. On this i am reminded of a shair
