Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is back... my apologies for being super late... Thank you for bearing me and my nonsense everyday and even missing it when I am absent.
Direct to discussion.
The redeeming quality of Uma is that he acknowledged that he had wronged Kanak by forcefully marrying her, and Vansh and Uma apologize to both Saras and Kanak for their happiness, their relationship were traded of like business transactions, it's indeed a change in Uma's perspective that where ever two people are involved both of them are to be mutually invested in it, mentally and physically- he is the same guy who used to think that husband are to be Hercules and carry all outside world weight while wife is to stay home and rear the family, it's that guy who called the husband the front wheel attached to the handlebar in a cycle, today that same man Umashankar realizes the error of his understanding, that two people are supposed to be equal in a relationship.
There is this phase in every relationship, when all one wants is to see the other one, interact and share with other, Kanak and Uma are enjoying that phase before marriage. They have been restricted from meeting each other, while they follow the rule, the heart wants what it wants... it's a simple scene when Kanak stands up with the drenched kurta in her hand and Uma is to walk beneath the showering droplets of water... this scene has been enacted before but that time only Kanak was interested and Uma walked away fuming at his own inability to enjoy it. There are three guards standing around them, who watch with silent amusement at their interaction, it's nothing much but still it's a cute display of affection that she stands on a higher ground showering her love on him and he being the lucky one gets to receive it, it's more like Pyaar Ki barsat. Uma closes his eyes and droplets fall on him like dew and he smiles like a flower which has just bloomed.
Palomi is finally leaving, she gives a gift to everyone including Kanak, which is in her room. She is genuinely heartbroken, just because she is evil doesn't mean she doesn't have a heart, every one has a heart but it works differently for each. Her love was not weak, it was wrong and when it remained unrequited she sought to kill Uma and die along side. It's an insight to the other side, that rejection is so hard o people to accept it gracefully, people are not mentally prepared for a No - it's not only about Palomi but it's common issue prevalent, the concept of no doesn't exist in people's vocabulary, and the non existence of it creates a trouble that if it ain't mine, it can't be anyone else, to urge to damage the goods so that it becomes worthless for all.
Palomi walks behind Uma, leaving the house a last time, she walks on the Mangori which were designed as Uma loves Kanak, it's her last desperate attempt to leave a mark, the destruction in her wake. Palomi runs towards the cliff while Uma for the first and last time runs behind her, that itself is a dream k kabhi Uma uske peeche bhaagta... she is crying miserably, lamenting the lines of fate which Kanak has and she doesn't. She has wanted Uma for a long time. While Uma tries to reason with her, she is hesitant to push him initially - it's kinda hard to put through the beloved through such a trauma, but this ain't about Uma or what he wants or loves, all this is about Palomi... for had she really cared about Uma she would have respected his decision his choice... Palomi pushes him and Uma falls down -(don't ask how that dhoti didn't fly away, and remained plastered on to him) he is holding on to the edge and Palomi says that we both will die together.
Kanak reads a letter left by Palomi which states that Palomi is going to kill Uma and they both would die together, to teach Kanak a lesson how one suffers living without the loved one... love is not a thing to be owned, to be claimed, love is not the achieve but to live for the other and their happiness, to live watching the other alive. Love is to be selfless and selfish for others happiness.
Kanak and Massi drive to that place (don't ask how they knew the exact location, seems like Uma and Kanak have a personal gps installed which only they can use) - it's in times of dire emergencies that simplest things like a seat belt can get stuck, leaving the person in a crazy frenzy, the anxiety taking over, how to get out of its hold, the more Kanak struggles the more time it took her to free herself - that's life quicksand like, the more one struggles to get out more quickly one gets suffocated in it, a person needs to learn to stay calm in times turbulent, it's not always necessary to challenge the storm and become as crazy as it is.
Massi pulls Uma up, because she needs Uma alive as he is yet to prepare the medicine she has waited this long for... she gets hurt in the process, Uma is hurt watching her in pain, for he still thinks of her as a mother, but that was Massi sacrificing blood and sweat for her own motives.
Ps - loved when Bhabho said that a certain kind of thinking can pull apart a house. Payal is being used as a tangent that might cause chaos in the house, it's not evident if she is doing it purposely or not, but yet her words are a mirror to her thoughts, and such thoughts can definitely crack even the strongest of relationship. Money is root cause of all power issues and problems in homes.
