Was it ever a question of love, they had been in love for a long time now, yet the argument Kanak presents is weak, it's actually seems irritating to Uma, that now after everything was done according to her terms and conditions she is harping love songs and flirting and staking claim on him - he is still clueless regarding the reason Kanak pierced their relationship with her own decision that has led him to marry another. He is trying to shake some sense into her, because he cannot play along, he is not filmy, everything should be laid out straight in front of him and said out loud, he noticed her antics, her flirtation, her smirk when she puts Palomi down, he understands what she wants but he cannot give her what she wants anymore, he cannot give himself over again because he has been promised to someone else. He is clear that the mangalsutra she is holding back won't stop him from marrying Palomi - that jibe did bring out the tear from her, Kanak lost for a moment, the one thing she was holding on to, it has been declared worthless by the man himself. She turns around with the realization of the gravity of the situation, she hadn't planned it thus far, she had never anticipated the divorce let alone remarriage... this wasn't her on, but a plan she tried to break through, she thought she was smart and strong enough to break the chakravyu... she says that life him given another opportunity to choose between Kanak and his dharm But Uma knows that it's too late... she had chooses for them earlier and now it's no longer a choice for him.
It was good that Rathis listened to the confrontation and got to know about the breaking news Massi was dying to share with them. They heard that Uma is as heart broken as Kanak yet he cannot do a thing about it. Everyone stands shocked yet Uma walks forward to Bhabho for ashirwad. Massi gloats KanUm divorce and Uma's marriage with Palomi.. while Bhabho can only be seen disappointed by Kanak. Later they stand witness to Kanak's heart break, her decision to choose Uma rather than her own happiness. - Kanak reasoned that Massi would have thrown them on street had she said anything to Uma, why doesn't she tell him now that she has half of everything, ab kaun sa shubh mahurat nikle ga.
It was actually kinda nice watching Bhabho being understanding to Kanak rather than demeaning her and not taking account of her reason for her actions. It's not that they approve of what has happened but understand the situation Kanak is in.
