We have been discussing Uma's arrest and we believe it is right thing as he forced Kanak to marry him.

Let's talk about Kanak betrayal to get the papers..

She just needed the shop and she believed that Uma cheated so she played with him - accepted

Why she bonded with others in the family, why she made them believe that she accepted the marriage and family.

She left them as her work is done..

This is the limit for anyone to tolerate as they are all involved in that marriage

We all know how much Uma means for that family and town..

If you are one of the well wisher who believes that Uma is the best

Would you able to forgive Kanak and her family after Uma's arrest?

Even Kanak gets Uma released, how would you trust her again..

No I will never ever do that "IF" I am one of Uma's well wishers. She has hurt Uma. So she does not deserve to be forgiven. But in reality, I am against the forced marriage just as you all are. I believe Uma should be well-punished for both cases of Kanak and Payal. Though Payal has turned grey because of her mother, it was Uma's deed which instigated them. However the story has to go, and thus Uma will be saved from getting arrested by none other than our Kanak.
One more thing, Uma will not really be punished by going to jail. If they keep them in the lock and give him non-spicy food to eat, he will eat them and live in the jail without any trouble. If they beat them, he will not have any sorrow because we know he can take anything.

In Uma's case no one can gain anything by punishing him physically. He needs to be challenge mentally to change his mentality. If his mother was well, she could change him. Now Kanak will have to do the job.

I think Kanak bonded well with Uma's family because she is a nice person at heart and so are they. Plus you have to remember that she is an orphan child who grew up mostly away from family in boarding schools. She longed to have someone comb her hair, prepare meals for her, even yell at her to clean her room...😆 Little things that we may roll our eyes over or take for granted mean a lot to someone who never had yet always longed to belong to a family. She found that at Uma's home...with Kaushalia Ji, Maasi-sa, Saras, and of course Shiv.

Even Uma...though misguided and extreme in his ways...is not an evil person at heart. Kanak, however, could not form the same bond with him, because she blames him for her kidnapping, forced marriage, and most of all the fraud that occurred with the sweet shop.

I think if the family is made to understand the entire story of the fraud and how valuable the shop is to Bhabo...they would definitely be able to forgive Kanak. I would.

Forgiveness and trust don't necessarily go hand in hand, so whether or not Uma's family would be able to trust her again...that's another story.

I don't expect them to trust her right away and frankly I wouldn't either. Trust once lost, in most cases, has to be earned.

I m neither team Uma, nor team Kanak. I believe what Kanak did was wrong but that cannot be compared to the forced marriage. Forgiveness is not easily given by a human soul even if it is the smallest mistake, trust has to be earned and that goes both ways. Uma has to earn Rathi's trust and Kanak has to earn Toshniwal's trust.

I know uma married her without her consent...after that he never force her...whatever kanak did was also wrong... Uma and his family accepted her when she came back herself...they gave respect, love as a daughter in law of the house...uma always luv her, respect her...but she always consider him as a villian...it's like she take the advantage of uma..as soon as she get the paper... She left him. The way uma arrested, humilated I am really upset with kanak ,she ruined his reputation, trust ...its hard for me to forgive kanak . But I know how much uma luv her...if he forgive her I will..

if i was uma i would have forgiven her for sure..but i wouldnt have gone back to her for maintaining the relationship..would have left it to shivji..if we are meant to be then she will come back..
urghhh...i cant imagine myself.doing the forced marriage..so if i did do that then i may turn myself in jail...i cant even imagine that..and if the marriage was not forced and an arranged one and she betrayed..then it would be hard to trust again..it would be a long journey of kanak to gain the trust back..

I will forgive Kanak as naturally I don't like to fight with anyone but It may take ages to trust her again.
One unforgivable thing Uma did is Forced marriage. Kanak did lot of cheating but if I weigh both of them, Uma will always have heavy weight on his side because of forced marriage. He is the one who caused of all this.

I really like to see Uma win Kanak back. I will suggest to Uma to forgive her and help her to overcome her hatred or ill feelings towards him. I hope Uma win her back with patience and understanding and make an environment in the house where her opinions are really matter.

I am not sure I answered your question properly .

I agree with @star_wonder...I'm neither Team Uma nor Team Kanak (although it might not have seemed like it).

Moving on forward (regardless of who Uma is)...no I would not forgive her.

But more than forgiving her, I would have a big problem trusting her and for me the basis of any relationship (whether romantic, familial etc) is trust.

Where there is no trust, there is no relationship.

I would never be able to trust her words nor her actions. She didn't mean to hurt them but in the end she did because she lied about coming back for him therefore implying that she wants to give this marriage a chance to all his family. Built up bonds on the basis of that which was all lies.

Her bonds with the rest of the family wasn't a lie but the basis/foundations of it were based on a lie.

If Uma was living alone and there was no collateral damage, then my answer would have been different.

But then apart from Shiv, those people first wronged her by not standing up for her when she was forcefully getting married (were the rest there or aware of the nature of their marriage? Cant remember) so they in a way asked for this.

Either way, Kanak took the wrong path.
