So is your theory to justify the kidnapping n forced marriage because Kanak tried to give US alcohol? Wow! The first is illegal and overriding of a woman's will. A woman who was fighting, biting, crying and desperate to get away. The later is stupid and US didn't even get drunk. Also Kanak has repentented but, US still bases his decisions on sankets.
Also I don't get the comparison to other shows to justify US that many posters these days are making. That there are other soap or real examples does not make any instance where a woman is kidnapped or forced to marry legal, ethical, or correct.Lastly, there are a plethora of similar posts by other posters...it is against forum rules to make multiple posts on same topic. Please look and see the half a dozen or so similar posts you will get your answer as to the legalitiesAlso in terms of imposition on one's personal freedoms - US dictated what Kanak wears, how she does her hair, no tea, no cell phone, what time Kanak gets up, when Kanak eats, what she can or cannot eat. Is that not forcing his dharam on someone else? What about trying to tatoo Kanak with a hot iron in the name of religion...it is amazing what viewers are willing to accept from male lead as appropriate

Would definitely agree with @Anjana.
Mjust because the forced/kidnapping marriage been done before (in other soaps) doesn't justify this ones. Having so many wrong out there doesn't make it right. What's wrong is wrong.
Having multiple posts regarding the same topic
Comparing other shows in forums are against the rules of IF.
Please look through the forum to find a similar query, if there ain't one make a post.
Can I ask one question?
Why is suddenly everyone making multiple topics to prove Kanak is a criminal?
When she did this act along with others, everyone was silent-ish about but suddenly now the male lead is getting arrested for a deserved reason.
Everyone now wants to prove that Kanak is just as awful as Uma and thats she's a criminal and should be arrested too.
When their so called 'crimes' are very different in nature, and one is far much more disgusting and inhumane than the other.
On the topic:
1) Kanak getting property papers is not a crime...Uma gave it to her by choice, she didn't steal it.
Yes I take a forced marriage to anyone a big deal whether the man is rich or poor or handsome or ugly. I take a lack of consent to be a very big deal.
2) Dharam getting destroyed is wrong but not a crime (legally) because you should never enforce your beliefs on others.
Dharam being questioned is not wrong though...one should question everything in life and never just live by injustices because of Dharam/Religion/Law or whatever is imposing their beliefs on to you/others.
Decieving someone to drink alcohol is disgusting and cheap, doesn't matter whatever the reason is.
It's not a simple prank for someone like me or Uma (who don't drink for religious purposes) but it's not recognised by law either as a crime. It was deception not force.
But yes I would have lost my cool had someone wronged me so...
Questioning beliefs is good and fair...imposing your beliefs or trying to break someones beliefs (those beliefs that don't hurt others eg. Not drinking is not harming anyone at all whereas say honour killing in the name of religion is wrong and hurting others) is completely criminal in my eyes but not in the laws eyes (actually imposing is a recognised crime in some places).
Also because he never drank it and karma got to her, it's not really a crime in my eyes either.
Its good you brought the alcohol incident, because thats probably the only time Kanak tried to unsuccessfully attack Uma's body autonomy.
Either way tho, at the end of the day Kanak didn't pick up an alcohol glass and make him forcefully drink it. Uma did forcefully pick her up and put her on the mandap.
You're comparing apples and bananas...two very different things. One being wrong will not justify the others wrongness or make it any less wrong.
