I have no issues so far with how Uma Shankar and Kanak's track is proceeding (I don't keep track of OLVs so only speaking from eps). For me in TSMSP Uma Shankar is the new Bhabho and it's gonna take a lot of tracks to incrementally alter his mindset. I can only hope the show doesn't brush over all the problematic aspects of how the relationship was formed, unlike every other desi show that depicts forced marriage. I want TSMSP to be different in that aspect and challenge the normalisation and romanticisation of this plot device. What I liked about DABH was that the show gave all characters their own tracks. Lots of shows reduce themselves to their lead jodi which is too boring for me.
I am quite emotionally invested in the Rathi parivaar because I followed DABH. So I want Ved and Vansh to also face emotional conflicts, I want to see Bhabho understanding how wrong it was to blame a child for her people's death (in a way she did with Kanak what Meena was doing with Pawan), I want to see Golu and Rani becoming mature enough to handle the issues that are going to come up with their relationship revealation, I want to see what happened to Mishri, I want Meena and Vikram to reflect on how they can avoid repeating their mistakes (was hiding the truth the best solution? why did Mishri back then & Golu now feel reluctant to share their truth with their parents?).
I think Toshniwals have thematic potential too. So I want all the Toshniwals to undergo their own trials and develop a better understanding of the difference between blindly following rituals to no purpose vs using religion as a marg-darshak to actually be a better person. Payal, Paloumi, Uma Shankar, his sister - I want them all to get the chance to self-reflect and learn to be better people. I want the people of Ladno to become more progressive like the people of Hanuman Gali became so by witnessing Sooraj and Sandhya's actions over the course of DABH.
All in all, I think TSMSP has a lot of potential to run for a while if they focus on everyone's tracks and address lots of problematic issues head-on!
