Many of us still think that they are going to separate even after Avi-Rhea told in an interview that they cannot run the separation track now. Today let me make it more clear as of why separation won't happen in TSMSP.
Serials nowadays love to show separation and reunion tracks every once in a while. Be it Dev-Sonakshi or Anika-Shivaay or Pratap-Ajabde they showed separation. But there is a huge difference between these couples and Diya aur bati couples. First and foremost as per the Diya aur bati hum logic husband-wife never hate each other for long or go through mental or physical separation. Secondly, all these couples went into separation and reunion after they once fell in love. In case of Uma-Kanak, Uma is falling in love or fell in love silently, and Kanak thinks she is not right for him because their thoughts never match. In this case separation will never happen. Because if they reunite after a couple of months or so, there will be no binding force to make them together. No love, no family pressures, no child. Why would they be together if they already separated.
