Hey there all the lovely people!!
Me is back with the episode discussion... but it's a damn good one, do watch it as no words can do justice to the impact of the episode.
Milton once said "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder" it was a heartbreakingly beautiful episode today.
I am actually at loss on what to say, describe or write, my hands tremble and heart fills up, that the intensity of truth is what makes a human vulnerable. Shaking to the core, shivering anxious in fear yet coming out of that phase.
Kanak listens to Uma's words very carefully, for it's the ignorant who learns the most... it was their first meeting in which they hadn't met face to face, but Kanak heard him say "rambha" - one who entertains the husband. Kanak held on to that lesson and did that today. She danced for him, although she meant it as provocative entertainment -she looked like an amateur, which is a good sign. It's not the art which is amateur but the intention she is doing it with. The intensity of the scene where Uma lifts her, lies her on the bed, and removes her jewelry step by step - seemed too good to be true, but alas it wasn't a dream. Uma pushes till the end, inquiring if she agrees to get physical with him. But Kanak for once in her life stayed true to herself, " I am not your dasi, lakshmi, dhaitri, mantri, I am not your Rambha ... I am Kanak " was the most amazing words that came out of Kanak's mouth. That strong woman who was in there but was shrouded in childishness and senselessness. The impact of her words might have broken Uma but more than that they were her saving grace--it was till the edge they both were pushed but it was truth that saved them both. Kanak won the rambha task, but in her truth their relationship lost... uma is determined to not let go. -- the best part today was the silence with Uma, the way he just kept the weight on her side of scale and went to get dressed. He came out and just went to bed. He turned his eyes away from a duppata less Kanak, but I hoped he would drape her duppata around her, somehow showing her that he didn't want that stuff either, not yet. -- that heavy feeling in his chest, where he has nothing to say or do, one just wants to close the eyes and sleep, as the process of being broken is exhausting, as no matter what one does, it just doesn't seem enough.
Although I wouldn't want to destroy the beauty of the episode by mentioning Palomi and suman, but it's worth a lesson that one cannot make the paradise of ones love on the ashes of other people's relationship. Kanak and Uma have married, be it a happy, rocky or forced marriage, whether they both accept each other or not, it's nobody's right of have expectations from the ruins of that relationship. It's actually weird to have hopes of Kanak and Uma's marriage to break so that Palomi would get to be US' dil ki Rani. When asked from suman that Kanak is goood to her yet she helps Palomi, to that suman very easily replies that "Kanak be it good or bad, is all for her selfish need" --- is this the reality, that it's understandable that Kanak has an underlying motive, but does that mean everything she does is about her selfish need. Is suman a better judge about who is better for Uma, who loves him more and who he deserves?? Why is suman soo overreaching her age. Palomi is a foolish woman, who although broken is treading on a path which is not love, but self destruction.
