When I read "Good epi .." TV_Princess's thread and find pro & contra about Uma, few of us blame his mistakes & said he cant forgiven ... it always be a debate among us ... And it makes me think about other side of Uma

1. He forced Kanak ... I just realized why he didnt worry, he could be go to the jail because of this and wonder why peoples letting him to did that ...
2. When his workers persued Kanak & did violance to Ved ... Peoples just looked & did nothing to help them
3. Uma insist Payal to marries Adhytia pic ... Payal's parent cant refused his demand

Where is his courage comes from that makes him dares decided to break the law? Is the reason only because his Dharm?

I didnt mean to offend any of you guys, but there're alot of questions in my head about him, he drives me crazy ... But in the end of today's episode he makes me happyyy šŸ˜‰

According to Uma he is just following his rigid dharm rules or values..he dnt have eyes to see things other way round like ..wht law says or wht other people will think..
And this is the flaw of Uma's character..

in that othodox community he is a very respected person..and the people too believes what he says..i remember in one scene just before payals father came to apologize for not accepting the marriage..the devotees asked uma if they should go and take her..then uma said first they will try to reason with her parents about dharam..and still if they dnt understand we will have to use force..during those episodes i uses to hate uma..i never understood such a person can be a hero..but now he is a bit more softer though very strict...probably until then...no one had ever contradicted him as much as kanak..

I think Uma's power is not that the crowd is upholding him, but viceversa. People support him because among them he is the most devoted follower of customs. That's why they respect him a lot.
His blind faith gives him power. I don't even think he wonders or cares if forced marriage is against the low or not.

good post...
u r right...uma is an educated person not a real kuwe ka mendak as kanak says... he knows the laws he knows what is wrong and how he will land in jail still he is breaking the laws...at least for payal he did that crime with her parents' consent but in kanak's case he could have easily gone to jail but still he did that...uma is a real mystery...

Usually dharam is complicated, some times you may feel that it's wrong.
If you want to save a deer from lion, that's not correct.beacause you are not letting lion to eat it's food. You may feel in deer's perspective ,you are right. But according to dharm , you should not disturb the lion when it wants to hunt deer.

Dharam is complicated, and so Uma Shankar is a complicated character too.
