Opposites don't attract until they really are opposites!

So now Kanak is playing Sita and Geeta role. Uma has finally understood what Kanak meant. But I see this going nowhere! As far as I'm concerned, almost all the Indian daily soaps have this "opposites attract" concept where EVERY TIME a woman enters the man's life and changes his point of view. Fine.

Uma shankar is completely opposite to what Suraj was, he is all about his Dharam, according to which, women are merely concerned and their voices are suppressed when it comes to taking part in salient decision makings. They are addressed as an object, that is pron to obey men. He needs someone who has the audacity to change his point of view, to handle his anger and have the courage to disown his Dharam and stand firm against him.
And here we have Kanak, very childish and highly immature. She is playing the Sita and Geeta role for Uma, to make him understand her real self but at the same time she doesn't want him to know her. She wants to irritate him and teach him a lesson BY taking advantage of his family and lying. Her character confuses me every time! She is so confused about what she wants. If her "dukaan" is all she is concerned for then let Uma think whatever he wants to. Why does she care? And even if she does, why does she say that she doesn't believe in this marriage, but then goes ahead and does the puja!
As far as I have seen the show, she isn't capable of changing Uma Shankar! She gets scared when he shows his anger, and then takes advantage of his leniency when he's calm.

I really hope the writers change and bring some light to Kanak's character so she makes a decision about what she really wants and stop playing a coward when it comes to taking stand.
