TSMSPJ*ep.56*6.6.17: My Impression* A score to settle!
In the main, the phrase may have a negative connotation towards having a problem with someone. On the other hand it may point to the direction of problem solving too. Within today's episode we witness scores being settled between two opposing parties namely Uma and Kanak. As far as I can make out there is clear intent on both sides to get even with each other.
It is no coincidence that they both should face each other under the silent watchful eye of Lord Shiva , who reserves his vibrancy for the moment as he gives these two souls the chance to react as they will! right before him in his court, in Uma's courtyard! But let it be known too that, he Bhole Nath.. decreed and created their marriage.. by the looks of things between , he will allow them to destroy what he put in place! Then out of that destruction will come about tumultuous chaos! Till by his mighty hand , Bhole Nath will once again create harmony and calm out of the emotional devastation.. but first let them first settle the score festering between Kanak and Uma.. as their Lord, he will be the silent bystander allowing them both to grope their way into discovering each other, or put asunder what he put together..
Even the most godly too! lose their rag at being thought of as bit of a dim wit. Uma is no exception when he commands her to leave his house now that she has managed to achieve her financial objectives. His objective in return is to have her evicted off his property. Kanak did not envisage this but she has a rough idea of how to return his ball of fire. Uma snarls and makes gibes at Kanak's perceptive skills. Tells her he knew her return meant she was on to something.. something vital, he flatters himself.. he had the choice to send her away when she returned, but he remained calm, so he could get to the bottom of her motive. He makes her aware he out smarts her! Kanak stares at him unmoved and its then that gets into low level personal comments about her upbringing! how she was not taught to value relationships! may be because she lacked being loved by her family! This cruel remark is the type which husbands may give to their wives during rows. Making negative comments about each others family is always used to emotionally injure the other party. Kanak too hisses and shouts back to defend her family! they were not involved in her decision to marry him! So keep them out of our personal score settlement! Uma though maligns her family so Kanak can unleash her rage, throw a strop! and finally leave! But both Kanak and Uma are playing games! Interlocking antlers! to whip up each other! test each other how far they can go! In fact his horrendous comment, her fit of rage! is to trigger pitch battle.. till both realize that need to come to some settlement..
The truth of the matter is he never wants her to leave in the first place.. in fact he lets out that his family is getting used to her. Before its painful to part from her she'd best leave. To me its telling Kanak that despite the fouls she commits in his family, the likes of Shiv, Saras , clearly have a soft spot for her! To me Uma hopes she'll have a meltdown? he just wants to cover himself before her, that he gave her the opportunity to leave but she turns it down! Kanak out of defiance tells him, she's not going anywhere! she is staying right under his roof! So he'd better get used to it! Uma, smiles at her decision...exactly what he wants the lamp to stay by the wick..
Whether one accepts it or not, but children's action good or bad do reflect on their good or bad breeding. Kanak wards off Uma's terse comment about her family. on the other hand even though Kanak is aware of how her decision to marry will tarnish her family's image , poor soul is regretfully unable to do much. In this instance. Yet I feel once she gets Bhabo's shop sorted, her rash decision will be seen in a better light. So while settling his score with Kanak. Uma raises questions about her family. Well little does he knows that like his family too... the Rathi s too have a sense of integrity. Bhabo talks about coming clean with mayank's family. She understands that unkind tongues will wag for both families. Yes in a private moment with Vikram Bhabo still cusses Kanak and her action. Such irony she too pulls poor Kanak down for playing around with family members sentiments! The issue is that Kanak stands on the cross roads.. between her family, and her inlaws.. unfortunate for her she is seen as a flippant selfish girl! a go getter who cares not for either families sentiments! Is Kanak wronged? Who will be her savior to defend her image ,for who she really is?? Her real worth.. her maternal family or the man ,who she has just fallen out! Still settling scores? Giving him a piece of her mind?.. Uma .. will you bow to understand what Kanak is about??
The dust is far from settled. Kanak fires back at his upbringing that allows men to forcibly marry strangers! And then pass judgements on their captive victims. She is no pauper! looking for charity, what ever she took over from him only vouches for her financial security, what wrong in that? Kanak rumbles thunderously! Then she goes for his personality.. his inflated ego that makes him impress upon others as a god like figure! and as far as their bond is concerned Kanak shouts, she vows that he will be the one to break their ordained bond not her!he will! Kanak leaves him with a challenge! The ball is in his court.. now that the guns go silent..and Bhole Nath waits.. as he watches dolefully from above. Palomi too watches and became privy to the pitch battle between Kanak and Uma. I suspect, silently she wanted the battle in surrender from both sides. More so from Kanak's side.. that she would flee and Palomi would perhaps have the chance to smooth Uma's ruffled feathers. But beware! of Palomi! the mole who will narrate all..
Well she said her bit! Uma wrestles in mind ,body and soul under the towering idol of lord Shiva.. she mocked him of being pompous and seeing himself as a divine one.. beneath Bhole Nath, he stands a puny diminutive ,vulnerable man, who has wronged her.. and only she herself could tell. His reflex action to Kanak's fury is a tranquil understanding... of her plight. Calm down Kanak.. Uma says and means it. Seems like Kanak's rant has made it to his heart.. this is how Shiva's true follower should behave.. accept his mistake. But as a husband appeasing words, coaxing words that he cares.. he gave her the chance to walk away but she turned it down...what's more he adds, even if she wants to walk away. Their vows will pull her feet back, Uma says with renewed conviction.
A renewal of a vow, coupled with an apology with his curved palm over the sacred fire,under the watchful eye of bhole Nath.. Uma assumes his penance is over. But its yet another of folly that he commits. Kanak has not settled the score yet. She cannot revise the vow as he expects, and walks away. Uma s penance is he will have to try harder, in winning over the trust of this stranger he has forcibly married!
The dust seems settled a bit.. the guns blaze no more. It had to be this way to come to an agreement. To resolve this score between them. Table talks then it is. To begin with, Kanak points out this is a marriage between two strangers! Who don't know each other from Adam! No wonder they fall out at the slightest! She fails to comprehend his high order thinking! She tells him straight , she hasn't got the foggiest of how he imagines her to be! but she is not that person! She levels with him, as it happens to be, he will have to accept her the way she is! Kanak tells him intrepidly that she can dupe his family but she cannot act up in front of him! Uma respects her views and meets her half way too.. if to complete his vow ..he has to acknowledge her as she is, then so be it! However, he requests her to keep this agreement between the two of them, keep it private. Keep it a secret from his family! why ?does Uma want to show them he is in a stronger position than Kanak?
The score between the two of them is very nearly settled.. Kanak drops another teaser while she has the chance.. well he hasn't seen nothing yet! She has a spilt personality! For the family she will put on the semblance of the pure ,innocent ,divine Sita! But before him she will be Gita! Herself as she really is! For him to behold! Well this saint.. has a heart too .. and he covers the distance between them.. leaves a decent gap and looks down into her expanded pupils.. and tells her, whichever hue, Sita or Gita she may strive to be.. but he can tell her, both will be covered in the colour of his love.. which will be permanent !..
Well it was yet another fully loaded episode.. heavy shelling! Then ceasefire and table talks.. with a hint of romance.. I can sense Lord Shiva shake his head with a smile.. human's.. always think they know it all. May be they do? But they need divine wisdom to see that good and evil resides within them, side by side.. Sometimes ruction is needed to wake them up!! Precap: Kanak brings a bit of good fun in the boring Uma's life! He wonders... in the Geeta.. there is mention of Sita.. but where does it mention a Gita???? [haaahaaa]...hamlet53. 6.6.17
