TSMSPJ*ep.53* 2.6.17: My Impression* Talk of the town..
Something on every body's lips. A piece of news that has the potential of engaging mass attention and creating sensationalism. Such is Uma's and Kanaks match made in heaven. It is understandable that a milestone like one's marriage, is one that demands a lot of attention and celebration. Within the cultural setting of this bride and groom, the family too in a huge way is terribly involved in the in's and outs of the just married couple's next step! Within the episode, now that the bride Kanak is back on the scene. The only topic of discussion on every mouth is Uma and Kanak's special night when they consummate and fulfil their nuptial bond. Uma is the male born of the household, thus its quite acceptable and expected, that his sisters, Maasi and Palomi will gleefully create a hype about the night when Uma ,as it were, claims his rights as Kanak's husband.
The special night has all involved from Suman to Maasi ,bar Kanak. It's amusing to see that she regrets all the eternal bond, union prompted by the gods..as mistakes of her big mouth! Come hither signals to Ravan!what a pickle she has got herself into. Have to say, such a sacred union between man and woman is somewhat treated lightly with Kanak's panic riddled reactions..that to the spectator almost seem comic! Maasi in the main, likes to maintain her control in the situation, but her double meaning comments to Uma about him being besotted by Kanak's beauty are talk of the household. The more Kanak hears about the racing suhag raat..the more she recedes back and almost wishes for a corner that would contain her! In fact all the talk about the auspicious hour when Uma and her should meet! plus the flowers he brings from the fresh flower seller, frightens Kanak to no end! and she strains her brain to conjure up ideas ,whereby she can put up a resistance against Uma's rightful amorous advances towards her. The man has the whole family in it with him, constantly adding , to the finishing touches! This young woman in a scenario where most young girls would be shyly apprehensive of what awaits them.. Kanak can only think to flee!!
Not the talk of the town,but behind closed doors, Uma tends to his mother under the watchful eye of Maasi. She never lets go of him, never spares a moment of controlling Uma. She is already showing signs of a clingy mother to her son. I suspect her hold on Uma now that he is married will be more loud and clear, to sound off more in Kanak's face. It's interesting to note , when Uma confesses before his mother that his face is blank, as he shows no joy or sorrow. Makes me wonder ,that if he feels, same in given situations, it will be mighty hard for Kanak to read his plain, similar expressions. Maasi flies at every opportunity that Uma speaks about. How she twists his words to mean , yes even when Kanak give him much smarting, he swallowed it down with a gulp of righteousness, which Maasi warns, she will not take from Kanak! if the girl crosses her limits again, so will she! But Uma talks the talk. In his disciplined yet tranquil tone he lets it known to Maasi , that Kanak for him is the boon from the gods. Despite the stark difference between them he accepts her as she is. However, gradually his intent is to support Kanak into adjusting into the regime of his life and home! Maasi is over the moon when he appeals for her help in bringing about a reformation in Kanak. Is Uma thus sounding off that in a way he does not accept the way she is? he will convert her into what she should be according to his mindset ?? what's more, to me it appears, that Uma sees it as testing times for him, when he performs Kanak's metamorphism.. to top it all, I think, Maasi too is hand in glove with Uma in reforming Kanak, so the girl is the talk of the town wife, of the mighty Uma Shankar!
Let the whole world know.. she will not change ,she will remain how she is sounds off Kanak, Ravan will not be given the chance to tamper with who she is! Her intent and purpose is not subject to change! come what may. Kanak although contemplates about doing a runner yet again.. she is most likely to stay!
Such hype to consummation. With no regard to how Payal is likely to feel? The poor girl never knew what it would be like? Indefinitely..she is one girl who silently bowed down to the pleas of her parents and religious pressure. Now ,she waits for the husband to return from wherever? Whenever? But Payal still honours both sides of her families..
Kanak though, takes all in a stride ,of no fears, no tears, no hesitation! the consolidated bed, the second washing line for her husband , the suggestive heavy statue ! are all props.. used by Maasi to rob her from her calm and purpose. She needs to remember whose daughter she is? Prayer is Kanak's chant and pleading before the Lord Shiva.. she hopes for his protection , during this ordeal..
Uma s preening and grooming in the bath as prep for their consummation night.. amuses Kanak. While he dreams of good things. Kanak only thinks of her modus operandi she will use to thwart Ravan s advances. The Ajanta model would be the thing too club Uma down with!to bring him back to the real world!! Kanak reckons!
The talk of the town in the Rathi's household is always bringing Golu's weight down! Rani in all honesty , places a bet with meenaskshi that she will stop Golu eating cakes.. instead she lines the fridge with naughty but nice images of sweet looking delectable delights..pin-up girls! The hope is he will be motivated to loose weight! But Golu knows his sugar rush lies in cakes! not pretty woman!
Well the talk of the town, the mighty handsome, Lord Shiva's devotee Uma Shankar's meticulous grooming to impress his mate.. certainly this amuses Kanak as she chuckles .. unbelievable! this groom has left the bride well behind in his preparation for the night of fulfilment! Thinking of which, Kanak suddenly cowers and muses.. hell! How could she let this awkward situation slip from her mind!what will she do?
Well cvs's still churning up the suhag raat situation..its useful, in as much that we continue to see stamina in both Uma and Kanak's mindset. Tomorrow there is a slip and a trip..and viola! Clumsy Kanak ends up board Uma... she yells at his keen misunderstanding.. listen mister !halt! don't love you!! Oh dear.. will Uma be the gentleman and gain his composure? More so help her recover hers?? Or will he give her a lecture about a wife denying her husband his nuptial rights?? Hamlet53 3.6.17
