Television's number one bahu Smriti Irani will be seen in Deepak Balraj Vij's "Malik Ek" portraying the role of Dwarkamai, the earth mother.
"Smriti is doing a full-fledged role. Dwarkamai is an 'imagination' character but her role is as important as that of Sai Baba (Jackie Shroff). The holy saint Sai Baba considered Dwarkamai his mother and in one of the teachings has even said - I sleep in my mother's lap. The movie starts with her and ends with her. She will be dressed in saffron sanyasi get up," explains the director. On the reason behind choosing Smriti for the role, he says, "She looks very dynamic and most importantly has very expressive eyes which denote her motherly figure. She is enjoying her new role as she herself is a strong devotee of Sai Baba."
Confirming the news, Smriti comments, "This is a very big challenge for me."
