15/5: story of narad’s curse begins

THE EPISODE KICKS OF WITH Shree Ram and Mahadev mutually respecting each other through the song that was played yesterday. After the song was over, Mahadev sits down satisfied. Devi Parvati aks him:

You look very happy, your dance was also full of mirth.

M: how can I not dance well with my lord playing the music? the whole world can dance at his tune. I am happy to dance to his tune, my whole body is full of mirth, shree ram made me so happy.

P: did lord Vishnu see you dance

M: it does not matter if he has seen me or not, I danced for my own pleasure, it was my offering to my lord. Finally the curse of narad came into being

P: I did not understand that, narad cursing his lord? He is well known for his devotion to lord Vishnu.

M: it's a long story my beloved.

He begins to recite the story:

Once while traveling narad came across a wonderful place where river ganges was flowing down. Attracted by the beauty of that place, he sat down there to perform some tapashya.. the strength of his prayer made the lord of all deities, Lord Indra very afraid . he was always insecure, he feared that soon some one will come and take away his post. so he employed Kamdev and Apsara rambha to dissuade narad from completing his prayer.

Rambha and tried and failed, she was thrown by some spiritual power of narad.

Tehn kamdev tried his hand and he was chased by some upper fire originating from narad's body.

He tehn surrendered to Narad and said that after Mahadev, he is the second person to win over kam.

Up till then, narad was fine but this roused his pride and he began to think himself equal to Lord Shiva. He boasted openly.

This disturebed lord shiva and he and Vishnu discussed the matter. No one likes to see a true devotee suddenly turn into a vain person.

In the meantime narad went along boasting and teasing. When Indra, rambha, and kamdev came to ask for his forgiveness, narad replied carelessly: why should I bother with the petty position of yours?

I am way to high up, I have won over carnal desire.

You rambha, I should tahnk you, fopr you the world came to know me for who I am.

All the deiities were perplexed at such a behavior. Shiva and Vishnu are really worried and Vishnu decide to teach narad a lesson.
