You are right. But Ray did win a lifetime achievement Oscar for his body of work. I am pretty sure of that.

Satyajit Ray won in 1992, for lifetime achievement. I think the Apu trilogy did deserve an Oscar.

every year the international films selected are always War related...this year also all the nominations looked like war related movies....thats all the jury likes i believe.india also needs to make a war movie and send it to oscars 😕

you can see all movies in the link below sent for foreign film oscar nominations from india but only 3 actually got nominated-Mother india,salaam bombay and Lagaan
