Aaj ki Taj khabar
If all goes well, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will star in yet another film on Taj Mahal. Aishwarya who has already committed herself to Ben Kingsley's untitled film on Taj Mahal (where she plays Mumtaz), has also been chosen to play Salim's wife, Mandi in Hollywood director Michael Radford's (of 1984 and Il Postino fame) Taj.
Line producer Abhik says, "We don't want Aishwarya to play Mumtaz. Instead we want her to play Mandi, Salim's wife. As it will be a lavish project, Radford is looking for more funds."
Recently, Michael Radford was in Mumbai for a week. When contacted, he confirmed the news.
Radford says, "Aishwarya is ideal for my film. Currently, I am working on a project with Ashok Banker, after which I will start work on Taj."
Taj will be produced by Kenneth Atchity under the banner Atchity Entertainment International. The film will be shot in Jaipur, Agra, Delhi and Mumbai.
